That wasn't my point. You said we should work to change the law. My point was, that is no longer possible. SCOTUS has denied us that option. The "wound" never heals because fair-minded Americans are not allowed to subject it to the bright cleansing light of legislative debate.

Again, this murder illustrates why SCOTUS should NOT be the business of legislating from the bench. When SCOTUS does so, it disenfranchises millions of Americans who don't share the liberal sentiments of five unelected self-important liberal lawyers in black robes. That isn't good for the country.

And, God did allow it to happen.

It is entirely possible to believe that the shooter carried out God’s plan, even if the shooter is punished, by God and the Government, for what the shooter did.

It is not your place to judge the shooter.

Those who corrupt the law demand that we respect the law that they corrupted.
Such is the way, with tyrants!

I’m not celebrating. The POS who killed Tiller has destroyed any chance of ending legalized abortion for another 100 years at least. Now things can only get worse. I also do not rule out the possibility of seeing legalized toddler murder within the next 20 years. America will be ready for it by then.

You are ridiculous.
Yes, this hurts the cause, as it is bad for PR.

However, the Unabomber has not slowed down Al Gore, has he?

I haven’t read every post on every thread. Not even close. However, here are two points of consideration and they may have already come up.

— How guilty is the *mother* who participates in the abortion?

— This one is paranoid, but I’ll ask it anyway. What if the abortion doctor killers are actually working for the other side in order to discredit the prolife movement? (I told you it was paranoid)

Amazing isn’t it? First there was John Brown now this one.

So tell me genius, how is the murder of George Tiller going to stop abortions? Is he the only abortionist in America? I imagine there are many more abortionists to take his place, so it's obvious his death isn't going to prevent more abortions.

I prefer stopping abortion the old fashioned Christian way by voting for pro-life candidates, and by changing people's hearts and minds.

If you think killing abortionists is the way to end abortion than fine, but don't expect any sympathy or kudos from me when you're found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison with your new cell mates Bubba and Bruce, who will be more than glad to keep you company.

How many abortionists have been shot, over the years?

Quite a few, I believe.

The prolife movement will be fine.

This hurts, but it is not something that will stop us from doing what is right.

It's late Sunday and I just saw a yahoo update on this!! i was totallly gobsmacked to hear this! :-O

There's a quote from the wife/widow here:
"The slaying of the 67-year-old doctor is "an unspeakable tragedy," his widow, four children and 10 grandchildren said in statement. "This is particularly heart-wrenching because George was shot down in his house of worship, a place of peace."

In my mind's eye, however, I read it this way:
"The slaying of the hundreds and thousands of unborn children by this man over the years at all stages of their neonatal development is "an unspeakable tragedy,"..."This is particularly heart-wrenching because these innocent unborn children were murdered in their mothers' wombs, a place of peace."

I do not condone this sort of thing, but as it was said, those who live violently tend die violently.

Prayers going up for his widow and family. May God forgive his soul!

God said “Thou shalt not murder.” I don’t think there is much room for debate there no matter who did it.

Funny, I don't hear this line used when we hunt down and kill terrorists in other countries, Somalia or Yemen for example. These killings are in countries against whom we are not at war. I completely support them, as does almost everyone else here, but that doesn't change the fact that they are outside the law.

The worst terrorists in the world today have killed far, far fewer than this man. And we aren't talking about 16 cell embryo's here, we're talking in many cases about babies who are old enough that they could live outside the womb, if given the chance.

Of course, in the case of the terrorists, you might argue that since it is our government doing it, rather than a private citizen, that makes it legal, and thus not murder. Alright then, what about Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe? I have seen hundreds of posts here about how some citizen of Zimbabwe should just take him out (and I agree). I have seen not one post, literally not a single one, saying that God wouldn't approve of that because it was "murder". Yet Miller has killed far more than Mugabe.

So, are our brave soldiers "murderers"? Would someone who stood up to genocide in Rwanda, or Zimbabwe, or Hitler's Germany have been a murderer? Or are you and many others here just hypocrites?

Our laws should recognize that people in tough spots need legal and moral guidance.

“deadly force” rules govern how a cop, or an average citizen, should behave in a life or death situation.

Likewise, we need to understand that pregnant women need a frame work that does not say: “Its your decision, and we want you to kill your baby” -— sorry but that is what current law says.

And, God did allow it to happen.

By your logic, God allows abortion also. Get over it.

I asked a question about moral obligation and equating this killing with terrorism. Is this your answer?

OK
Local Fox News says there have been 8, EIGHT murders of abortionists since Roe V. Wade.

We will get through this.

Trust me.

Absolutely right. It amazes me how many people will not lift a finger to stop murders from happening. For God’s sake this butcher was running an abbatoir. And by condoning this horrific practice this nation is already paying the price.
