Kansas Abortionist George Tiller was shot today as he was going to Church.

Apparently you prefer to empower our political enemies with lots of juicy material that is easy to find. The evil creep got shot by another evil creep. By any standard of conservatism, that isn't justice under the rule of law, but such is how it is being lauded here.
As to pulling and banning, I didn't ask for any such thing; it is dishonest and hyperbolic of you to suggest that I did. I did suggest that it is not good for FR to have a thread like this on the Breaking News sidebar because so many of the views expressed stray from conservatism toward mob vengeance. I stand by that opinion.
This killing should bring to light the monster this man was to those who live comfortably in this country in the shadow of thousand upon thousands of our unborn killed on a daily basis.
The majority of the country is against partial birth abortion and Tiller was the champion of it. This is a good opportunity for the pro-life movement to shed more light on the atrocities this man has committed over his lifetime.
And I don't share your whacked out opinion that Tiller's killer is as bad as he was, I'm sure the Left will be making that case, you need to be able to counter it.
To tell the truth, the only thing that’s surprising is how little violence there is or ever has been in the pro-life movement, since many legitimate avenues of protest open to other groups are prohibited to us and even when we succeed in getting a law passed, it’s overturned by activist judges. This means that pro-lifers are constantly being pushed to move outside the law.
But the moral law remains in effect for us, and we cannot accept doing evil - murder, destruction - of any kind for the sake of good. Pro-lifers take the sufferings on their own bodies - such as the 83 yr old priest who was taken off in cuffs at ND - but do not inflict them on others.
Still, the fact remains that when the government has set up a situation where there is increasingly less of a way for people to change the law or even protest it legimitately, there are going to be people who get pushed too far.
That said, it’s still possible that this was a personal grudge or something that had nothing to do with abortion. That’s what I’m hoping for, at least, but since Tiller’s entire life was “about” abortion, I’m not very optimistic.
Funny, you were the one who brought the Mormons up.
If it’s not about Mormons, why’d you do that?
This is not the time or place for a personal vendetta.
Grow up.
Isn’t this interesting that the confirmation of Sotomayor will now probably be off the front page. Not saying this is a conspiracy but just the same it is what it is.
While this will be used to harm the pro-life movement it is not the time (never will be) to throw up the hands and declare the fight lost.
Agreed and part of the point I was trying to make. Thank you for adding what you did.
Where did you read this detail about vanity plates?
Tomorrow's news shows will be full of left wingers, from the Brady Bunch to Planned Parenthood, demanding more gun control laws and laws negating 1st, 4th and 5th Amendment Rights of Pro Life org's.
And I can just see Eric Holder's brain spinning on new ways the DoJ can screw us over. And especially Rahm "Let No Crisis Go To Waste" Emmanuel. He's prolly on the phone now with Hairy Reed (sic) and San Fran Nan on writing new laws asap.
Even if the shooter was a leftist moonbat Obama voter and this was about adultery. They'll use this for pushing gun control and getting all medical (mental) records in a gubmint database pdq.
So this sucks, big time.
May God have mercy on Tillers soul and on the soul of his killer.
SORRY, i GET PARANOID WHEN THESE THINGS HAPPEN....
Nope.
Thanks for the link metmom
It is not a crime now. It used to be a crime, It may be a crime later, but it is not now.
The only crime that has been committed in the here and now is cold blooded first degree murder.
Impossible to argue with that. Inevitably, the tidal wave is going to wash over those who perpetrated the slaughter, along with those who failed to stop them.
> You know, there was just a thread about how the dems are waiting for some national tragedy to tighten gun laws.

You watch.
Democrats wait for tragedy to enact weapon legislation

Can I lend you a band-aid to cover that hole in your bleeding heart?
He can’t help it. This is from his page:
My name is James Jimmy Simpson and I live in Portland, Oregon. Unlike most of the cowards on here, I stand by what I say and have nothing to hide.
So he admits to being a coward!!! LMAO !!!
Matchett-PI: "Shame on you."
Glenn: "For which part?"
For playing God - just like him and those who aided him.
Extremists on the right are no different than extremists on the left - they're merely the flip side of the same extremist coin.
Good, I don’t do that. Mind your own business.
Yep, Dr. Kristin Neuhaus who worked hand-in-hand with him, and was cited in the lawsuit for violating the state's laws on late-term abortions. He was aquitted by a jury, but right after the verdict, another complaint against him for the same thing was brought to light. Apparently he was never charged on that one.
GMTA. I just looked it up myself.
...and you would not protect innocent human beings from being murdered...by stopping the person about to perform the murder?
You equate the lives of unborn children as the same as children (okay, anyone that has been born) playing in a playground?
If that’s the case, why aren’t you out physically stopping people who perform abortions?
From your perspective, shouldn’t you do everything in your power to stop an abortionist as you would a madman killing children on a playground? What is stoppping you? The law is stopping you? From protecting innocent children?
Because this guy blames Mormons for everything. Mind your own business.
Tiller had the chance to repent every minute of his life. As far as we know, he refused.
“There is a VERY simple response:
“If all prolifers were violent, if all prolifers were vigilantes, Tiller would have been dead a very long time ago!”
But you KNOW that is not how it will play out.
I wouldn't even be shocked if some leftist group ordered the hit on Tiller to create a backlash against the pro-life movement, which has clearly been winning in the polls of late. My guess is that pro-deathers wouldn't mind sacrificing one of their more extreme members for political gain.
Was I playing God? I had no idea. I thought I was wishing that he rot in hell along with every mother who ever allowed the man to take her child's life.
Morally you are right, but legally, there are degrees of murder and degrees of culpability:

ding ding ding.
Big trouble ahead....
I'm not excusing the killer. But Tiller had a whole lifetime to repent. And if he did not repent, that was his choice. The Bible is pretty clear on this. Nobody knows the day or the hour of our death, except God. Therefore, it is unwise to go walking around in a state of mortal sin.
And that's also why Catholics ask Mary to "pray for us now and at the hour of our death."
God is merciful. He extends His mercy to all. I am sure that Tiller has had many opportunities to repent. And perhaps he did repent at the last. But for everyone, the time runs out, sooner or later.
Also I could see Obama linking Tiller’s assassination with Sarah Palin’s pro-life speech in Evansville in an attempt to marginalize her pr0-life views and perhaps accuse her views of causing Tiller’s death.
Remember Obama sees everything through a political lens.
Then stop reading them.
If you’re NOT praying for Hitler, Pol Pot, even Satan, you obviously missed the Christ’s message.

I agree. My first thought when I read this story was that the left have sacrificed one of their own to push another agenda.
It will.
Not saying this is a conspiracy but just the same it is what it is.
It is an opportunity that the Dems will cynically exploit. No conspiracy necessary, any more than it was necessary in Paul Wellstone's death.
Obama and Sibelius are probably doing the Happy Dance right about now.
Good ole Karma! What goes around comes around.
For all we know; someone other than a pro life did it.
Pharaoh hardened his heart.
Pharaoh hardened his heart.
Pharaoh hardened his heart.
God hardened Pharaoh’s heart.
I just did a quick drive by of DU. It took all of 5 posts before someone commented that we are celebrating here at FR.
And less than that for them to smear the whole *right wing* movement as hypocrites.
Time to go disinfect the computer....
Which makes it suspicious. And do they have the killer?
Removing trash is all of our business.
