It is very difficult to sympathize with someone who does that, though I will certainly pray for his soul.

Personally, I think that's ridiculous. I'm sure you agree that Tiller is among the people of this generation most exquisitely suited for Hell, as a consequence of his willful and repeated acts while alive. If you say his soul shouldn't be dispatched to Hell, you are pronouncing God's creation of Hell as punishment as a mistake. You are saying that God should be even more merciful than He is. That is folly and is a basic contradiction of Christian belief.

I've seen a lot of justification for this act under the pretense of stopping the murderer, which I believe is a flawed analogy.

All I can surmise is that those folks supporting the murder of Tiller believe that the guy who killed Tiller had the gumption to do what those supporting the act lacked the intestinal fortitude to do themselves, at least if you advocate that "preventing the murder of children on a playground" analogy where we are to use all means necessary to stop the madman who was going to kill the children.

It begs the questions: If it is your duty to stop the murder of innocents by all means necessary, why haven't you done what Tiller's killer did yourself? Are you advocating that we all go out and start "whacking" all the folks who perform abortions? Or is there a litmus test as to the type and number they can get away with before being "whacked"?

Always nice to have someone else do the dirty work for you. < /sarcasm>

I wonder if he was one of those “prayfully pro-choice” Christians... with their fingers crossed behind their backs...

I am curious about how the guy who killed him did not have any "collateral damage" -- no one else seems to have been injured.

Was this someone who was very proficient with guns?

Maybe he was someone who was angry about a number of things, and chose Tiller to take it out on.

He may not have been active in pro-life...

I suggest you read Mark Levin's book.

He talks about “civil society” and what makes a society break down.

Frankly, I do not think you have the courage to face the obvious, based on your post.

I said clearly that I did not support this action.

I also state that I understand the frustrations of the impatient, on the anti-abortion side.

When the government behaves as a tyrant, placing abortionists on a pedestal, denying the right to life, denying the 10th Amendment rights of the States, CHAOS follows.

You need to find some strength, somewhere, to face the situation we are in.

The “statists” and the tyrants have pushed our backs against the wall, KNOWING FULL WELL THAT SOME, IN OUR FOLD, WILL NOT BEHAVE WELL, in the face of tyranny.

They will then use those “examples” to justify even more tyranny.

Again, find some courage, somewhere, to face the situation that the left has created.

Biblical justification of war and capital punishment rest on the principle of legitimate rulers, even tyrants (Romans 13) can have legitimacy and revolt against them is justified (like war) only as a last resort and with proportionate means etc.

That’s not what happened here. This was vigilante justice and it violates the rule of law. Both anarchy and abortion are evil. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

And he who has taken one life, even Tiller’s, has murdered the whole world.

I am saying nothing of the sort.

Every person has the opportunity to repent and receive salvation at any time. Though I doubt Tiller did this, I sincerely hope that he did.

This does nothing to hurt the pro-life cause? Why SHOULD it? The cause is just. Just because one person commits murder doesn’t mean the cause is wrong. And if the shooter was “pro-life,” he was kidding himself.

Don’t fall for this “Oh, we’re screwed mentality.”

That is simply wrong. The cause is just. Every just cause attracts unstable people. That doesn’t mean the cause is not just. THINK before you claim all is lost or that people of goodwill are going to not use their brains to think this through.

I’ve been saying this and saying this.

This is the behavior of the radical left-wing. A “pro-lifer” does not use murder as a tool to advocate pro-life.

If anything, the administration is behind this.

“Why is the death of a satanic worshipper tragic?”

Because once dead, they no longer can choose forgiveness and salvation through Jesus.

Not really. Tiller went fast. He did not have to feel the agonies of the partial birth abortion technology he inflicted on his victims. He did not have the base of his skull pierced by an instrument, and then have his brains sucked out until his skull collapsed.

OTOH, it may have been a head shot with a large caliber bullet. Even so, that would have been quicker and less painful than what he did to 60,000 innocent babies.

I certainly do have a “concept” of the scale of the problem —I have been a prolife ACTIVIST for forty years.

If just ONE baby’s life is saved by Tiller’s death, that is a good thing.

The cliches aside this will cause a net loss of life. As another poster mentioned the pro-life movement was really beginning to gain some ground. This will hurt that and that will cost lives.

As the Jewish proverb goes “He who has saved one life has saved the whole world.”

That's from the Koran. :(

what is a screaming fist anyhow? some sort of bathhouse fetish?

It's the name of a mercenary group from a novel called Necromancer. If you had the ability to use a search function you might be able to find out.

What's a Wardaddy? You done yet or should we go on? I have all night.
