WICHITA, Kan. -- Dr. George Tiller, a Kansas man who became one of the most famous figures in the national debate over abortion, was shot and killed at his church Sunday morning, KAKE-TV reported.
Tiller was walking into Reformation Lutheran Church at 10:03 a.m., when he was shot.
Tiller was pronounced dead when emergency crews arrived, the station reported.
Police were looking for a blue Ford Taurus with a K-State vanity plate, license number 225 BAB. Police described him as a white male in his 50's or 60's, 6'1," 220 lbs, wearing a white shirt and dark pants.
The best pot so far in this thread!!!
Who cares what he says about FR. He has his own snakes to kill...
In other words, you all think it's smart to tremble at what the baby-killers will think?I care very little what they think. I care very much about what they'll *do*. Obama and his posse are in charge right now. if you don't think that Obama and gang aren't going to come down like a ton of bricks on the anti-abortion movement(and thereby the conservative base) you've got another thing coming.
Sorry, I can't buy that.
Remember that felons can't vote and pretty soon it will be a crime to be conservative.
Well, you got 99 posts on this thread. That’s a pretty strong approval rating over the posting nazis.
The fact that the deceased made his living killing babies should not make his murder any more egregious.
I'd argue that since he valued life with such disdain, that I can understand how some might take solace in the fact that we has murdered.
A Time for Everything
1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 a time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboreth?
10 ¶ I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.
13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labor, it is the gift of God.
14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
That’s a sweeping statement. Outside of this particular issue do you oppose snipers?
On the abortion issue I have always taken a competing rights perspective in that the unborn at some point had more right to live than the woman had to control her body. A later term abortion would clearly be infringing upon the rights of a baby that could survive outside the body.
For those passionate about the pro life movement I see this as a setback. The media will seize upon this just like they do when there is a shooting and they go after gun rights.
Wow,, 3 minutes late. Wonder had he been on time and already inside, if the NUT intended to walk inside and shoot him sitting in the pew?
On hearing the news, that was probably one of the first thoughts of many on this list.
Actually, wouldn't this be a better argument for allowing armed security in churches?
He will till no more in the bloody garden of evisceration.
Hopefully he is. The sooner this is over with the better.
Are you intentionally obtuse, or are you just out of touch with reality?
No, I was not including acts necessary in war or in self defense...
What kind of “church” was this? The Wright kind?
No, thats in a vampire movie. In reality, christians (and Jesus)want sinners to find their way in the church house door. And as often as they want decide to.
I guess the allies should not have killed a single Nazi soldier in WWII?
To invoke a favorite meme of the left: I question the timing.This looks like the opening for an anti-Christian Kristallnacht.Think of Janet ‘conservatives are enemies of the state’ Napolitano’s DHS report.
Murder is your spelling of assassinate.
The question has no relevance.
Yes. Look what happened in 1998 when that doctor was killed in New York State. What should have been a good year for Republican candidates turned out rather poorly.
Don't be so sure. There are those who will not travel farther even for a late-term abortion. And there are those who will have this week's appointment canceled. sob sob
It is not murder to kill someone to save someone else's life.
Remember, we ALL deserve hell. Perhaps Tiller turned to God with his last breaths. We could meet him in Heaven.
Indeed it is.
Bullcrap. Burning cities didnt do anything for civil rights. What it did do, was make whitey have an excuse to equate black with “dangerous”.
What turned the tide was refusing to move to the back of the bus,, or those men in dress suits weearing signs saying “I am a man”. What turned the tide was stuff like Little Rock High, well-dressed kids just attempting to go to school.
If you want a better analogy from the civil rights era. Think about the guy dynamiting that church and killing the four little girls. His purpose was to stop desegregation, he galvanized thought against his cause.
Todays murderer will probably achieve a similar result. This is a huge black eye. Sane anti-abortionists and the cause were hurt today. This is the mentality of the church that protests soldier funerals. Are you going to want to be a supported of that bunch of low lifes if it turns out to be one of them?
My sentiments exactly!
Could be a false flag op. Regardless, it WILL be used against us by the dark side. Prepare for the worst.
>Both the shooter and the victim will be judged.<
The shooter had to kill in order to save the lives of numerous future children.
If the shooter is considered a murderer, then so are our brave soldiers. They (the soldiers) have to kill in order to save our lives from the constant threat of terrorism.
Catholics know the Confiteor: “...for what I have done and what I have failed to do...” Those who vored for Obama are failing to protect many of our future children by allowing the snuffing out of their lives intentionally.
(And all you catholic Obama voters, don’t expect an apology from me. You made your beds, learn to sleep in them.)
Right, and if you don’t want one, you don’t have to have one...isn’t that the ‘choice’ that is advertised?
Take a look at how Daily Kos is covering reactions of FR.
Couldn’t agree more. How this will be portrayed in the media and to the average voter will end up doing great harm to the pro-life movement.
Not going to go to that swamp. What- do they think we’re celebrating?
I’ve heard the same sort of stuff from those that think 9-11 was an anti-muslim plot...
When they apologise for Ayers and their other homegrown terrorists instead of giving them university professorships, I’ll care what they think.
Disgusting comment. You should be ashamed. What if my daughter was at the Olympics that night when that bomb went off? My christian kid needs to be randomly murdered so that arrogant prick, Rudoph the bomber, gets his point across? How about the bomb he set to kill firemen responding to his first bomb? Guy in a firehouse gets a call, and responds. Doesnt go home to his kids if Rudolphs bomb get him.
If you believe that Rudoph did a good thing, you are EXACTLY the same as the suicide bombers in Iraq, killing innocents at the marketplace for your cause. The ONLY hero in the Rudoph case was Richard Jewell.
And if it’s choice, what choice does the child have? Did anyone ask it if it wanted to be born or not?
I think I'll take a rain check,thanks.They don't make a disinfectant strong enough to make me feel "clean" after having read trash like the Daily Chaos.I have a good enough imagination to know that words like "Nazi" are being bandied about quite freely there right now.
But in your case I must respectfully dissent because your utterly clueless.
Obviously, the choice is only for those that are old enough to bear children.
Titus Livy said the same thing, more or less, over 2000 years ago. This lesson is so stark and so compelling thatit bears repeating at every opportunity. In his introduction to his monumental history of Rome, Livy remarked that his purpose in writing was "to trace the progress of our moral decline, to watch, first, the sinking of the foundations of morality as the old teaching was allowed to lapse, then the rapidly increasing disintegration, then the final collapse of the whole edifice, and the dark dawning of our modern day when we can neither endure our vices nor face the remedies needed to cure them."
The whole question of whether or not America will continue to exist a free Republic comes down to whether we can face - and enact - the remedies needed to cure our nation, our culture and our hearts of the rot of Marxism, multi-culturalism and collectivism that has penetrated every institution we have. Rome failed to to do what we must do - and history is our witness to its fate.
WHO SHOT HIM matters a LOT.....where’s the reporting!
The ELCA supports the whole homosexual agenda and supports abortion, late term abortion as well as partial-birth abortion.
He undoubtedly felt right at home in this church as he knew it would not toss him out on his sorry rear because of his evil medical practice.
that was my reaction exactly upon hearing it. will be used as further proof that prolifers=terrorists. Satan is upping the ante.
“If the shooter is considered a murderer, then so are our brave soldiers.”
A murderous coward has nothing to do with our soldiers in combat. Thats the mentality of the Westboro church.
