What!?

You approve of this?

I strongly disagree. This is murder and not justified.

Somebody ought to grab a copy of that in case this turns out to be something unrelated to the abortion issue- so it can be publicly thrown back in his face.

Admittedly- it probably is abortion related, but one never really knows before all of the facts are in.

Some of us drive a tad over the limit. In Texas, you get run over for being the fast lane, and driving only a few mph over the limit...

Of course, I know some crazy drivers...

I registered just to respond. It won’t faze him though. Any thought of journalistic integrity leached out of his mind years ago.
Nothing but naked advocacy left.

"God bless the man who stood up against the murder of the unborn."

By this single act, the shooter has set back the pro-life cause decades. He has condemned more babies to death than Tiller ever dreamed of killing.

God bless them man who stood up against the murder of the unborn.

I think you are wrong to ask for God's blessing on the murderer of this abortion doctor, no matter how dark and murderous his life had been.

My reason for that has to do with the murder of James the brother of John by Herod Agrippa I. This story is in Acts 12. In that story, Peter is also captured, imprisoned, and set to be wrongly executed by this fanatical king. The church prayed for his release and Peter was miraculously released.

On his release Peter did not rail against the king, nor did the Christians agitate for the death of King Herod Agrippa.

Shortly thereafter, though, God Himself took Herod's life due to Herod's own narcissism.

It is a clear biblical example of a true grievous and a true act of retribution by God, and not by God's people.

Your position is ever so unbiblical, and it is demonstrably so. As our friend wagglebee says, there are 3 moral justifications for killing: a just war, true self defense, and legal/moral capital punishment.

God will not bless the murderer of this murderer, because the shooter decided to play God rather than wait on God. Ultimately, "the wicked shall be cast into hell..."

"Martin Sheen is pro-life and he is about as far left as you can get.

To be clear, he may be personally against abortion but doesn't think it should be illegal, nor does he "judge" those women who choose abortion. He said in a 2003 interview with "The Progressive Magazine" about abortion...

...so I'm inclined to be against abortion of any life. But I am equally against the death penalty or war-- anywhere people are sacrificed for some end justifying a means. I don't think abortion is a good idea. I personally am opposed to abortion, but I will not judge anybody else's right in that regard because I am not a woman and I could never face the actual reality of it.

I'm just not any fan of Martin Sheen and don't want to see him get credit for anything he doesn't deserve.

Your statement assumes facts not established. If anything, this will discourage others from performing partial birth abortions, especially if this guy gets off with a light sentence of say 2-5 years.

I think it is safe to assume that there will be fewer late term abortions now that Tiller is dead.

You have a grotesque and perverted conscience and sense of morality. This is the path to anarchy not justice and enlightenment. Your views sully the pro-life movement, Christianity, as well as conservatives. You should be banned from the FR.

"...especially if this guy gets off with a light sentence of say 2-5 years."

Cold blooded murders don't get 2-5 years. I don't know what the minimum sentencing guidelines are in Kansas, but I'm guessing it's at least 15 years for premeditated murder.

No there won’t. Some abortionists have a quasi-religious zeal about it, particularly those who practice late-term abortion. Plus these guys will now have better security.

This was bad, first and foremost morally bad.

Sometimes God uses men to carry out his retribution. Not saying this is the case here, because I do not know every bit of God's will. Would you have made the same argument if someone had assassinated Hitler? And be honest; while your comments have some Biblical support, are you going to be losing any sleep over Tiller's death?

Polictics and religion makes for strange bedfellows!

Depending on the state of mind of the killer, the punishment for the crime for what he may eventually be convicted might be far less.

What's your definition of that?

Since it's "self" defense, does that mean killing to defend someone else is not justified?

Interesting that you mention Hitler since I have just purchased Valkyrie, the new Cruise movie about the plot on Hitler’s life. I got through most of it yesterday and intend to finish it tonight.

The plot does not suceed. I certainly had to sit there and wonder why, but I am very deterministic about life and death. No one is born or dies without God’s involvement, in my opinion.

Hitler was permitted a few more months. Tiller was taken today. A very dear brother, who was a Boy Scout regional director, educator, and a solid Christian, was called home this past week after suffering for a while with pancreatic cancer.

I’d far rather have the brother still with us than Tiller. Certainly, than Hitler.

But, life and death is in God’s hands, and the death of ANYONE, to include Tiller, had to pass muster with God in my view of the cosmos.

Tiller’s life is similar to the adage: “If you play with fire, you’re gonna get burnt.” He did, and he did. Yet, the foreknowledge of God saw this plan and approved it.

None of this makes Tiller’s murderer less a murderer, but it does mean that God is in control.

Very true.

We need to keep in mind that, prior to his departure for Damascus, Saul/Saint Paul was a truly evil man and a sworn enemy of Christianity. NOTHING that Christians did changed Paul, his conversion was a deliberate Act of God. Peter, James, John and the other Christians NEVER imagined that their enemy would become Christianity's greatest evangelist, but this is exactly what happened.

Do I believe that Tiller repented and received Salvation? I think it is highly unlikely; but I CANNOT say that for a certainty. God alone judges who will go to Heaven and who will go to Hell.

if anyone ever doubted that GOD uses less than perfect men, just remember Congressman CHARLIE WILSON and rent and watch the movie CHARLIE WILSON's WAR.

For those who dont know of him and history, he was used of GOD to literally single handily defeat the Russians in Afghanistan when everyone was afraid to offend the Russians by sending covert military aid to Afghanistan.

No, “true self defense” is just my shorthand way of mentioning the self defense argument without going into all the details of it. It does include defense of one’s family in immediate threat of life.
