FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 31, 2009 NARAL Pro-Choice America’s Statement on the Murder of Dr. George Tiller
Washington, D.C. – Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, today issued the following statement on the murder of Dr. George Tiller in Wichita, Kan.
“On behalf of NARAL Pro-Choice America, our prayers and thoughts are with Dr. Tiller’s family and friends at this moment, a moment that fills us with immeasurable shock and deep sadness.
“For almost two decades, Dr. Tiller and those individuals who helped provide care to his patients have lived under intense harassment tinged with persistent threats of violence. Even under these adverse circumstances, Dr. Tiller never wavered in his commitment to providing abortion services and other reproductive health care to women and their families, often in the most difficult and heart-breaking circumstances.
“Dr. Tiller’s murder will send a chill down the spines of the brave and courageous providers and other professionals who are part of reproductive-health centers that serve women across this country. We want them to know that they have our support as they move forward in providing these essential services in the aftermath of the shocking news from Wichita.
“We understand that the investigation is ongoing and that law-enforcement officials are pursuing a suspect. If it proves to be an act of anti-abortion violence, as we suspect it is, then the full weight of the law must be used to send a clear message that these types of attacks will be prosecuted fully and swiftly.
“We also call on opponents of a woman’s right to choose to condemn this action completely and absolutely. What happened today in Wichita cannot become the beginning of a more aggressive wave of violence targeting abortion providers and the women for whom they provide care. Women accessing their legal right to abortion—and the providers who make this possible—should never be targets of violence.”

I can hardly wait (sarcasm) to see how the Today Show, Good Morning America, CNN, etc. handle this story. If it turns out that the killer is an anti-abortio activist of some kind, they will drive home the point that anyone against abortion must be a part of the lunatic fringe, and is in favor of killing abortion doctors. Count on it.

Made all the more heart-breaking by the fact that a man sworn to protect health spent 20 years depriving the most helpless among us of not only health but life itself.
I'm sorry, but I have trouble mustering too much sympathy for a man who made his living killing babies. At the same time, these kinds of extremist acts reflect no credit on the right to life movement, and display a hypocrisy that is not lost on our enemies.
Even Dr. Kevorkian was more honorable than Dr. Tiller. The former's patients at least knew what they wanted and into what they were getting.
What this Tiller did for money was the killing of late term -- 2nd and 3rd trimester -- babies. Many, if not most, of these babies could live outside the womb.
What he did during his illustrious and utterly shameful career was "legalized murder."
The left can put on the all the sad pretense, candle light vigils and the like, that they want to. But my guess is that they are tickled pink that this has happened.

Those were my sentiments exactly when I heard the news but my daughter admonished me and said taking a life is wrong in both instances. Let us not give the other side ammunition to use against us. Pro Life means exactly that. God will deal with the baby killers.

This article is full of phrases that say one thing but mean exactly the opposite. Dr. Tiller’s “patients” are not patients, they are his victims. “reproductive-health centers” are, in fact death centers. I find it hard to believe that any females are so dumb as to believe that the babies in their wombs are “just tissue” or a “blob.” Where do they think babies come from? the turnip patch? Obama is killing off millions of his own race. (And the least intelligent of all other races).

Tiller's position on aborting late tern pregnancies had to do with playing God. It goes like this, obviously: It is discovered that the baby may have an “abnormality” and so they just do away with it.
It is declared to be a woman's choice, but it never stops there in society. When people play God in the way Tiller did, the mind set, when unchallenged in a real and principled way, becomes the mind set of more and more people, especially the ungodly in government, who want to control individual lives. Tiller's mind set seems to create precedent for action on the part of people who seek power to control society.
When, therefore, this idea of playing God and choosing to end life for reason of “abnormalities” gets into the health care debate, it will have a big part in how decisions are made when rationing health care for everyone.
Eventually (and probably sooner than later) health care bureaucrats will employ the same thinking as Tiller did, but it will not longer be “choice.” When discovered that an unborn baby has “abnormalities” bureaucrats will decide that an “abnormal” child born into this world is an unacceptable burden to the system, and they will rule that the cost is too great. Conclusion: don't provide the services to deliver this baby, or . . . don't provide the services to care for it's “abnormality” after birth.
Result: abortion (not by choice) or infanticide, which is murder, but it will come to be accepted as normal. It will save money, you know, and reduce the stress on the funding for the medical care of “normal” people.
Eugenics, pure and simple. That is where we are headed.
