OAKLAND, Tenn. - An Oakland, Tennessee man fatally shot an intruder trying to climb in his window early Monday morning.
The incident occurred on the 400-block of Bell Grove Road. The homeowner heard what sounded like a knock on his window around 12:30am. When the noise grew, the homeowner found a neighbor, 32-year old Anthony Webb, breaking through his window with a rake.
The homeowner tells FOX13 that he told the man repeatedly to stop, but Webb's reply was "What are you going to do?"

“What are you going to do?”
Next best last line from a fool:
“Hey fellas, watch this!”
...the father of the intruder was a high school classmate...
how tragic & sad.
Another story to add to the anti gun groups?
Bizarre.
I did once meet sleepwalker that was shot 4x by a neighbor.
Amazingly, he lived. No charges were filed against the neighbor.
Huh? This is a pro gun story.
Knock 3 times on the window if you want me, twice on the pipes, if the answer is no.
He gave him 3 guesses, last 2 didn't count.
I suppose it was only polite to shoot him at that point. You wouldn't want the feller to get offended by thinking you were ignoring his question...
LOL!
Reminds me of that annoying show hosted by Regis Philbin.
“Are you sure?”
“Is that your final answer?”
[Er, yes. Yes, I think I’ll go with that. Um, you’ve dropped your rake. *cranes to look over window sill* In fact you’ve dropped dead. I appear to have won.]
Armed Citizen ping
Well, he DID ask!
“What are you going to do?”
[BANG! BANG! BANG!]
I can’t believe nobody said this yet - “Never bring a rake to a gun fight”.
Huh? This is a pro gun story

Yes, it is in fact a pro gun story. But how easy has it been to twist this kind of thing around for a political agenda, to make people blame the guns rather than the criminals.
It appears the intruders query was answered in short order.

Things are getting worse by the day in Memphis. I often hear gunshots during the night. It’s forced me to learn how to defend myself...but much good has come out of it in that I would have otherwise been to afraid to get out of my comfort level and deal with it, and possibly help others if a situation should arise. The crime is so random and unpredictable that your guard always has to be up. I see it getting much worse with Obamanomics and discord. I don’t leave the house without a holster It’s a sad world out there anymore.
Yes, but if you think about it, doesn’t the random nature of crime mean you should be prepared no matter where you are? I never let the “low likelihood” or crime rate of a given area alter when I carry my weapon, which would be at all times the law permits.
Carrying shouldn’t make you nervous...if I may gently point this out, perhaps you would be well-advised to receive some sort of training that would help you be more comfortable?
I also suggest a self-defense course. I recommend Krav Maga highly.

What a stupid question.
Just wait, we haven’t even got to the “My boy dint do nuthin,” article that tells us how the decedent was changing his life after his 20th arrest and fifth release from prison.
“It was all a big mistake,” his mother said. “He meant to break into a democrat’s house.”
Fayette County Homeowner Shoots and Kills Intruder
Check out what the dead perp's family is insisting...
LOL! You got that right!
Do you know how many times I’ve heard criminals get off by saying they were drunk & thought it was their own house, or thought it was a friend’s house...and then the homeowner is the one that goes to jail?
I’ve also heard that its best to have ONE story in the courtroom...
That was a few thousand rounds and many classes ago. Now most times I carry one plus a backup. I always, even on the hottest day, have an LCP tucked into the small of my back. I enjoy shooting clays and AR frolicking.
what I meant to say in that post is that I'm thankful that a negative situation (in living downtown,) has turned into a world of good in me now having my head out of the sand, having now thankfully been able to bring my kids up to speed, (they are both dead shots, and I am SO grateful that they are now MUCH safer in their lives ahead,) and I have a pastime that I really love that takes my mind off of things that get me down. Now I'm actually more like the old lady Queen Elizabeth look-alike in MaxMax's post #20...but with my new .45. ;-). I gave my Sig P232 to my daughter because she liked it so much, so I had to replace it with something.) ;-)
I have one person to thank for my initially being able to gather the courage to take the initial step, and he unknowingly has now helped protect and defend my children...who are my whole life, and are very fine and considerate young adults that will help make this country a better place. I am so thankful to him.
“What are you going to do?”
BANG!
Dude...That almost looks like the Queen...
Nice post, and good for you and your kids. Mine are still too young to shoot a large calibre handgun, which is all I own, but they have been with me when I shoot. When the time is right, they’ll learn. I can’t think of a more important lesson.
I was four when I fired my first pistol. A Colt SAA revolver in .45 Long. I've loved large caliber guns ever since! Don't wait too long! (and .22’s are cheap to feed even now)
