Pittsburgh native and former Ohio congressman John Kasich will be announcing his bid to take on Democratic Governor Ted Strickland for the Buckeye state's executive office in 2010.
Look for the announcement to appear around the same time on his Web site
Kasich hails from the McKees Rocks suburb of Pittsburgh that also gave Pennsylvania the late Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll and cable news junkies frequent appearances of Oxi-Clean spokesperson, Billy Mays (Hi, Billy Mays here!).
A former nine-term congressman, presidential candidate and host of his own Fox News Show appropriately called "Heartland with John Kasich," Kasich, 57, filed the appropriate paperwork to run for Ohio's executive office early last month.
Kasich developed a reputation as a congressman that stood for lower taxes, family values and reduced spending during the heady days of the Newt Gingrich led Republican Revolution. His last few weeks doing the covered-dish detail across the state has shown he has not veered from that plank.

WKYC TV should also have the video and for all I know it’s on YouTube already.
I heard they would.
Hey cool, I didn’t know he was from Pittsburgh. And how many times does one get pinged to the same thread by both the Pittsburgh and NE Ohio lists? (When it doesn’t have to do with the Steelers stomping all over the Browns of course, snort.)
He needs to memorize the transcript of Mark Levin's first hour from tonight; in fact we all do. I've never heard such a precise, methodical explanation of our economic position and how we got to where we are. Of course, if I hadn't given my copy of Liberty and Tyranny to my dad, I could glean it from within for myself. :) But since I had, and even though I already knew the basic facts, I very much appreciated him spelling it out as he did - well done.

Hey, thanks for that; our local radio does the rebroadcast later in the evening. Sometimes by that time of night I just can’t listen to anything but music, but I’ll be sure to tune in.
I’d like to think we have a chance in Ohio. The closing of the GM plants is not going over well in my neck of the woods, and of course there will be a trickle down effect to other manufacturers here. The GOP definitely has an opening; I just hope they remember that people here often vote on collective emotion more than fact and right now there’s a lot of emotion.
Thanks again for the heads up on Mark’s show. I know someone who has had the pleasure of talking to him several times and she said he is well worth the wait! Er, maybe I should say hold time... ;)
Wow, this is good news. Good luck, John! :o)
Good! We need more like him!
Now that is some GREAT news. Finally!
