Former Ohio Republican Rep. John Kasich on Monday formally announced his 2010 campaign for the governorship, setting up a possible contest with Democratic incumbent Ted Strickland.
Kasich disclosed his candidacy in his hometown of Westerville, a Columbus suburb that he represented in the House (1983-2001). His announcement was expected; Kasich last month formed a campaign committee to begin raising money for the governor's race.

I just saw this on Hannity, I think it’s great, BTW Ted Strickland has made an absolute mess out of Ohio
John is a good man! He will benefit Ohio in many ways!
Hate to say it but Strickland only continued the work of Bubba Bob Taft.
Taft set the GOP in Ohio back about 3 decades.
his hometown is actually McKees Rocks, PA, same as TV pitchman Billy Mays. But no matter, the Buckeye State needs a big dose of his conservatism.
i always liked John Kasich. The GOP needs more like him and fewer McCains, Crists, Graham-nestys, etc.

I think I know him to be pro-life, pro-family, pro-God, pro-fiscal soundness, pro-gun, etc. All of these impressions were gathered over his years as a commentator for Fox. I don’t think I followed him that when he was a congressman.
My support is premised on my understanding.
I don’t want to see him dancing the Rino Two-Step.
Glad to see this. He was on Hannity annoucing this. Hopefully he can win (and maybe Michigan will get a clue) and he can help the economy is these two states rebound which have been in pretty bad shape since the 90’s. Kasich is the type of guy that even people who are slightly left of center can like. He has an intellectual honesty that is rare in todays politicians.

"That puts him in the company of Representative Nancy Pelosi of California, the second-highest-ranking Democrat in the House, who used to be one of Condit's staunchest allies but withdrew her endorsement of him in December and has since gone mum. As has former Representative John Kasich, an Ohio Republican who was a good buddy of Condit's -- they went to a Pearl Jam concert together -- but scurries off the phone as soon as I state my business.
I heard Kasich announce on Sirius Fox News. Too bad Sean didn’t think to ask Kasich, if elected, if he plans on joining the wave of states re-aserting their sovereignty and tenth amendment rights.
If he were elected in 2010, would that give him enough time to run for Prez in 2012?
And this is important to know why? Unless you are implying that he knew about Condit’s shenanigans with the murdered girl. How is that proven? After the press’s treatment of Condit it was assumed (and to some still is) that he had some involvement in the disappearance and murder of Miss Levy. Turns out that he had no involvement in the crime at all. He’s still a weasel in my book but Kasich? Scarborough? I don’t know anything about their lives or involvement with Condit. Fill us in on what you think.
