I hate to agree with you, but I do.
In looking at any race, you have to look at the constituents, and in MN that means generally progressive with some conservative leanings. Coleman suited that just fine, but it was not a year to be running as a Republican. Anywhere.
I fully sympathize with those who want a constitutional, conservative republican to lead them.
The bottom line remains, though, that Coleman lost his race. Blame it on whomever or whatever, but his responsibility was to win his race. He did not come through for his supporters.
The same with McCain.
North Carolina being my second home for my entire life, I knew instantly that Dole was a mismatch for that state. She slipped through the first time around because Helms supporters were hoping for the best, but it became apparent that she was a totally ineffective, terribly packaged, beltway elitist.

True, but we didn’t elect a clown like Franken. That’s in another league. Yes, we have our own Senaturd clowns, but they’re not to the level Franken is.
