Crowd rallies in support of troops where soldiers shot

LITTLE ROCK — Dozens of people rallied in support of U.S. military personnel Thursday outside a recruiting center where two soldiers were gunned down this week.
Pvt. William Long died and another soldier, Pvt. Quinton I. Ezeagwula, was wounded in the attack Monday at the Army-Navy Career Center in west Little Rock. Police arrested Abdulhakim Muhammad, 23, who has pleaded innocent in the shooting.
Muhammad, born Carlos Bledsoe, converted to Islam as a teen-ager and legally changed his name in 2006.
“This soldier has given his life in battle. He was ambushed in a cowardly act by a terrorist,” state Rep. Ed Garner, R-Maumelle, told a crowd of about 50 people. “We need to let soldiers know that when they put on the uniform for our country and our freedom, we support them.”
Ed Hairston of Benton said he attended the rally in support of America.
“These soldiers were for America,” Hairston said. “The life was taken so tragically. It’s a senseless crime.”
A makeshift memorial of several bouquets of flowers was erected in front the recruiting center. A half-dozen or so uniformed servicemen at the facility Thursday stood at attention as the crowd sang the national anthem and recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
Some attending the rally stood near Rodney Parham Road and held signs — “Does the Jihad love us yet Obama?” among them — critical of President Obama’s overtures to Muslims worldwide.
Passersby honked in support of the rally.
Jim Porter, former commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10483 in Hot Springs Village, said he was disappointed that just 50 people attended.
“This was a disasterous, disgraceful act,” he said about the shooting. “This parking lot should be packed.”
Though none of the speakers made inflammatory remarks about Islam, a Muslim woman who was driving by and noticed the signs stopped during the rally.
Faten Abdeljaber confronted those holding signs near the roadway and said she was upset because she felt Islam was being slandered and labeled a terrorist religion.
“Islam is peace,” said Abdeljaber, dressed in a black berka, traditional public attire for Muslim females. “Do you see me holding a sign saying Christianity is terrorism?”
The woman and several of the people attending the rally argued over her presence there and whether her religion should be equated with terrorism.
Eric Hairston of Benton, who saw the woman from a distance, said he didn’t think she should be there and that she needed to show respect to the soldiers.
Hairston’s father, Ed, told his son the woman had a right to voice her opinion.
“If she doesn’t have the right to speak, we’ve gone too far,” he said.

Thanks for being there Bryan! Also thanks for posting the address of that Recruiting Office the other day at my request. I am going to find an appropriate condolence card and send it there. I am outraged that our fake president has yet to utter a word about this act of domestic terrorism. He is a disgrace. I thought when my husband served under Clinton as Commander in Chief it was bad, but this clown Obama is way worse. I feel for all the service members who must serve under such an unworthy man.
God Bless all members of our armed services and see them through this dark time and keep them safe. Amen.

The media really dropped the ball with "Faten" Muslim woman.
She was screaming, "EVIL JOOOOOOZ" and "9/11 was an inside job", and "Islam is a peaceful religion".
When someone asked her about the Muslim who killed Private Long, her response was, "A JEW DID IT, prove to me that it was a Muslim".
Jeeez.......that is what we are fighting.

I actually thought that my buddy had paid someone to dress as a muslim and do this because of her total meltdown, but low and behold...she was a genuine Mooselimb!

Services will be public, and will be held at Harland Park Baptist Church in Conway, Arkansas.
Don’t have the address at hand, but a web search should be fruitful, in case someone wants to send flowers for the memorial.

I must say that she showed very poor taste, especially considering the solemn circumstances.
She really believes what she was screaming. Poor, deceived soul. Good thing for her that she was among Patriots (Conservatives)...because if she had done that with some other folks, they would have beaten her to a pulp (or worse).
After you guys left, she actually softened toward me a bit, especially after I stated that I believed that “not all Muslims were jihadists [terrorists]. As I was leaving, she actually told me that she agreed with my sign that said...
“WE WILL NEVER SURRENDER TO TERROR”

I don't think that people who haven't spent time in that part of the world can appreciate how anti-Semtic they really are. I know that I couldn't. Everything that is wrong in their lives is blamed on "The Jews". It's really something to see to and hear.

Has anyone seen a picture of Pvt. Quinton I. Ezeagwula? The only person by that last name I could find was Ike Ezeagula, who lives in Little Rock, not too far from that recruiting station, just a bit farther out from “downtown”. Ike, seems to be an immigrant from Nigeria, as his names and city of residence show up on a petition for a new airport in an under served part of Nigeria.
While "Semite" might refer to all ancient people's of what's now considered the "middle-east". "Anti-Semitic" has been used exclusively to describe bigotry, hatred or racial prejudice against the Jewish people.
Iraqi's as an example, who are clearly "of the middle-east", also have prevailing, although not universal, anti-Semitic sentiments.
I’ve been reluctant to say this, but it’s time, since this is about a recruiting center: anybody who joins the service under zero’s reign is a fool - an honorable fool, a patriotic fool, but no less a fool.

I was interviewed after the rally participants had disbanded to go downtown to the “traveling Liberty Bell” at American Legion Post #1.
However, I have not yet seen a writeup in this morning’s paper, only a picture of myself waving my 3’ x 5’ American flag.
Others were taking pictures and may have reports, but nonetheless, it was an honor and an inspiration to be there with other patriotic Americans...especially the older vets from WW2 forward.
