If you own gold, what’s to stop the government from seizing it from you when the dollar finally craps out, just like FDR did in 1933? If you buy from a dealer, the Feds will have long since subpoenaed your dealer’s sales and shipping records. They will know you bought it, and they will come knocking at your door to recover it. For the people.

Oh horsesh#t. I've bought all the gold I own cash and carry with NO records. None. Nada. Zip. And most people won't fall for the " it's for the good of the nation crap" that FDR was able to sell in 1933.

In that case, if they come for my gold, then they will only receive lead in the process, plus a wee bit of copper. Kind of reverse alchemy....

Is that the gold that the Germans got from the Jews?

Jews have lots of experience in fleeing dangerous situations and that is a trick, sewing diamonds in the seams of clothing, that has helped them survice for the past millenia. There is a reason they, as a people, figure so prominently in banking and diamonds.

Yikes! Now “zero” is making nice with the animals that want to do it again. Do American Jews get it yet?

Oil is not money.

Gold is money. Everything else is credit.

I've bought gold coins and did not have to leave any record.

When you buy gold, nothing is reported to the government. You and the dealer both have receipts: the dealer for income reporting, and you for potential capital gains reporting.

When you sell gold, only certain gold product sales are reported to the IRS, not all. You and the dealer both have receipts: the dealer for expense reporting, and you for actual capital gains reporting.

Gold is considered a collectible and is taxed at the 28% rate.

I read that because the gold eagle is legal currency it currently is not taxed.

Incorrect. If you sell gold eagles to a dealer, he does not have to report the sale to the IRS, but you still have to pay capital gains tax on any profit you have made. Granted, without dealer reporting to the IRS, you might just get away with it, but if you're caught -- well, it can get pretty ugly.

That is a VERY good suggestion... after all, it’s only harmless Carbon.

Very interesting, dollarbull. Thanks. I never knew what an "Economic hit-man" was until I met one the other day. There's a whole nuther world out there that goes on. This man was extremely interesting (and an American good guy,) had been the world over...tenfold...multilingual and from smalltown-deepsouth, and VERY dubious about Obama and gang. Every day is a little (lot) worse with this marxist....

We're in a heap o trouble.
