Actually, Phelps and crew came to Arkansas in 2006, and the State Police gave them evidence that someone had threatened to shoot them at the hotel and or funeral.
I think the State Police, in essense told them, "we can't stop you from your rally, but we CANNOT guarantee your survival and will not put our officers at risk. This is a very credible threat. We will have an ambulance standing by at your protest site".
Rumor from my LEO grapevine is that they kind of freaked out when the investigator had the EMT ask everyone's blood type so they could have some extra ready "just in case". Well, thats how the rumor goes.....
The fact is that the next morning, Phelp's crew packed up and drove back to Kansas.

You don’t need a bike to be PGR and “ride” on missions. I use my truck and ussually follow at the rear, though occasionally block intersections. We refer to 4 wheeled vehicles as “cages”. :)
If you can join a mission, do it! Bring a 3’ x 5’ flag if you can.

You know how passionate and plain spoken things can get around here when people get worked up, that is why it is not a good idea to throw lines like that onto a thread, you should consider asking to have it removed it sure doesn’t look good and it won’t look any better a year or five from now.

I may try to put together a little gun thing about Romney. The big issue with Mitt is his compulsive lying, claiming to be a “lifetime hunter” then finally admitting it was once with his cousins hunting squirrels, (except for a ceremonial campaign hunt in 2006).
Romney claimed to be a gun owner for campaign purposes and then admitted that he didn’t own a gun.
Romney of course was never pro gun (he was anti-gun) or personally involved with guns but weeks before announcing his run for the presidency Mitt bought a lifetime membership in the NRA in August of 2006 and he has spread that NRA member line far and wide.
Here is an example of Mitt’s compulsion to tell anyone anything.

Agreed. They’ve protested at military funerals, erected a monument that says a gay man has been in hell for ___ days, celebrated Pope John Paul II’s death, called Obama the antichrist, etc. Just who HAVEN’T they ticked off? It’s a testament to America’s tolerance that they’re still breathing.
When I was younger, I was a "kill them all, let God sort them out" kind of guy, and wishing that we could just start over by shooting those against liberty.
But I saw something far, far worse than killing them when I saw how ex-Rep. Gary Condit (D-CA) and ex-Sen. Tom Daschole (D-SD) fell. They were voted out by their consituents and both damn near had a mental breakdown. I actually believe that that is worse than death for lifetime, narcissistic politicians, that is, being absolutely and totally rejected by their electorate.
Even Clinton had to disappear for a while after his near-removal and disbarrment, and he still bears deep scars from that fiasco. He knows, that a hundred years from now, that his legacy will be that of "the Clown President" that threw it all away to screw a young intern. Anyways, for Phelps and gang, they nullify themselves everytime they open their mouths.....and are neither "baptist" or a "church".
To clean out the "inside the beltway" personality, we need to recruit tough, smart, capable Republicans and get term limits into the Constitutional Amendments.

While the country is definitely in a gay pickle, most recently with Obama’s fatuous declaration of June as “LGBT Celebration Month” against most Americans’ wishes, this fellow’s theology is as loony as hell. Did he take a scissors and cut John 3:16 out of his bible? It is the personal relationship between the soldier (or anybody else) and Jesus Christ that matters.
