“Social Brain Hypothesis” Discredited (Evos embarrassed again)
CEH ^ | June 4, 2009

une 4, 2009 — According to evolutionary theory, the extra processing required for living in social groups should make brains bigger. Not so, found a couple of scientists who looked into the question. There’s no general correlation.

--snip--

Another evolutionary myth has been falsified, and Seth Shostak has been embarrassed again. Keep up the good work...

Okay, I just want to make this clear: Creationist believe that men and dinosaurs lived at the same time? Like in the Flintstones? Really?

Bwahhahaha.

They just found some “prehistoric” bones that had cave drawings on them (they were really big bones).

I did not learn this in Evolution 101. I have heard people make similar conjectures though. This idea is hardly a bedrock of Evolution, and "falsifying" it means nothing, sorry. Heck, at least Polonium Halos are interesting and potentially interesting.

More disinformation from CEH.

The article also said,

It's true that bigger brains — in such animals as whales, dolphins, primates and birds — are associated with greater behavioral flexibility and adaptability to new environments.

and,

They found the relationship might hold up among living members of the Canidae family (wolves, foxes, coyotes and jackals)...

The actual indicator they were trying to measure was,

...big brains relative to overall body mass (this ratio is referred to as encephalization)...

A better test would've been to compare social and non-social species within "kinds," such as cheetahs versus lions.

But a better indicator would've been comparing the weight of the part of their brains used for socialization. The ability to socialize is not dependent on body weight.

I could've written this CEH article drawing the opposite conclusion from the exact same LiveScience article by quote-mining different sections.

But why would CEH trust any result from evolutionary biologists in the first place? Aren't all biologists liars?

"Aren't all biologists liars?"

No, just the handful that call themselves "Evolutionary Biologists."

Biology is about life, thus has nothing to do with evolution, which is about lying about life.
