Slain abortion doctor eulogized as generous
By ROXANA HEGEMAN, Associated Press Writer
WICHITA, Kan. Hundreds of people gathered Saturday to honor slain abortion provider Dr. George Tiller, eulogized by a longtime friend as a passionate and generous man who repeatedly overcame difficult challenges.
Tiller's funeral at College Hill United Methodist Church also drew small groups of protesters. Police and federal marshals provided heavy security.
Tiller, one of the nation's few providers of late-term abortions, was killed by a gunshot last Sunday in the foyer of his own church, Reformation Lutheran, while he was serving as an usher and his wife was singing in the choir.
His family had the funeral at the Methodist church to accommodate the large number of mourners.
His son, Maury, said the manner of his father's death resulted in an unimaginable outpouring of love and support for the family.
But he added: "I struggle with the manner he was welcomed into heaven."
Others recalled personal quirks that made him human.

It’s in the title. He was generous.
Yeah... it is like there are no rules. The 10 Commandments are just suggestions...
Insane people drape themselves in piety, it happens all the time. Just look at the Muslims with their fake prophet.
We condemn each and every murder committed by Tiller.
Slain Abortion Doctor Eulogized As Generous
Only in the sick and perverted minds of the liberal media does dealing death to babies make a person generous.
I beg to differ... they are not pro-choice because that would mean they allow choice on speech, guns and religion too. They are pro-baby killing.
I don’t play that game.
The unborn he killed have eternal souls I assume. There is curious line Jesus says about not fearing the person who can destroy our earthly bodies but to fear the one who can condemn our eternal souls. Given that we are all sinners who could be in a position to do so without also condemning oneself. Perhaps the unborn who never had a chance to breath a single breath? I am not sure but I wonder about this.
Methodists are weak? I dunno ~ Lutheran churches are usually big enough to handle typical funerals.
Yes, they deserve to also be condemned.
Read the article.
If you get your wish, I hope the next person he kills is closer to thee than close to me.
I doubt he thinks that now.
Doubtful. I do not kill babies.
I hope he inspires more young people to seek a career interrupting the cycle of life, providing people the lifestyle they want, free of burdensome responsibilities. Such people serving in this capacity demonstrate what is best about human achievement, and are far more popular with people who mater, like Hollywood celebrities, than those self-righteous hypocrites, who can't see the good that comes from removing a plague from the human race.
I do not condemn the killing and no force, argument, or sanctimonious babble on earth can persuade me to do so. I see 60,000 innocents put up against his indescribably evil hide and wish his death had occured before his first murder. Try as I will, I see no fault in myself only in those that want to bestow upon him any vestige of humanity.
But he added: “I struggle with the manner he was welcomed into heaven.”
******
Maury should struggle more with the fact that in all likelihood he won’t be in heaven. Unless this killer had repented of his evil ways how he died will be the least of his worries.
Yes, it is unimaginable given what this guy did (for millions of $$$, by the way) to innocent babies in the womb.
