How about “I’m a private citizen now and my opinion isn’t more important than anyone else’s?”

Doesn’t make any sense to me one way or another why he is silent and she is not.
Meanwhile, the country is a road to destruction. Class, graciousness, and affirmation is not what the GOP needs to project at this time ... IMHO.

Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool/tool than to open it and remove all doubt ...
Shut up Laura

Laura’s just being a fool!
To: maggief
Laura...hush yo’ mouth mama. You had a good run...don’t screw it up with a late life ‘bless your heart’.

Answer: George Herbert Walker Bush.”
Good point.

I think she sounds like a winner and a good nomineeGolly! I wonder if she is enjoys the Barack and Michelle Show?
To: maggief
So does that mean Laura gets to vote in the Senate?
To: SJSAMPLE
We have had enough of Bush “class acts.” They have destroyed the GOP.

I generally like Laura: shes a classy lady and Im very much missing that in todays White House. However, it is time for the Bushs to go away. They made some good solid contributions, but they also helped diminish the GOP. Just go and enjoy a quiet retirement let Cheney do the talking now, OK? I just can't find anything to add to that - so BTTT.

“Ive often wondered though why Condi and her were so close and what did Condi see that I didnt.”
That’s not the impression I get. If you believe tabloid rumors that seem to bring the same story into bubble-up mode, George is ALOT closer to Condi than Condi is with Laura.
As for this kerfluffle, yes...Laura is gracious. Always has been. BUT! I don’t think she needed to “gush” about how she’s a “winner” etc.
Laura’s fine, but she reminds me a bit of Peggy Noonan. And that’s not good.

Class, graciousness, and affirmation is not what the GOP needs to project at this time ... IMHO. I agree. If the GOP is serious about winning, they need to get down and dirty.
The problem is, I DON'T think they're serious about winning. Why bother? They have no problem with the direction the Dems are going, so it's easier to just go along for the ride.

What did you expect? That she slit the neck of a rooster, drink his blood, and curse Sotomayor on national TV?Why did she have to open her yap at all? She's a nobody. Now, she's endorsed her.
The Bush's are a good chunk of the problem we are in today. They should just go away.

GOP elitist Laura Bush validates identity politics and glosses over the candidate’s blatant racism. This woman is embarrassingly stupid. The Bush family would be wise to stay out of circulation for a few decades to allow the damage they have done to conservatism to settle.

What did you expect? That she slit the neck of a rooster, drink his blood, and curse Sotomayor on national TV? Well, that would have been nice, for starters.

The Sotomayor nomination and confirmation is a done deal and at this point the Bush family has to get on board.
