2009 GOP Senate-House Dinner
Addressing tonights 2009 GOP Senate-House Dinner, Fmr. House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA) will likely stress the GOPs role as a reform party. Other speakers at the annual fundraising dinner include Senate Min. Leader Mitch McConnell (KY) and House Min. Leader John Boehner (OH), among others. Actor Jon Voight emcees the event.
"Certainly, at the outset, the democrats fulfilled their mission to paint President Bush as a war monger. And once they were able to reach out to the youth in colleges, on the internet with this lie, painting him as the evil one, never giving him credit for keeping us safe .. once they established that, then it would be easy to bring in The One, as Oprah Winfrey crowned him.
Im also ashamed to say that Hollywood was a big part of tearing down President Bush."
Actor Jon Voight, who hosted the dinner, delivered a particularly harsh rebuke to Obama, saying he was "embarrassed" by the president and that Obama's leadership would cause the "downfall" of the country.
"We are becoming a weak nation," he said, calling Obama a "false prophet" and his administration the "Obama oppression."
Republican leaders who spoke afterward praised his comments. "You're great. Come back any time," Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky said. Gingrich called Voight's comments a rallying cry until the next elections in 2010.
~~Jon Voight threw pounds of red meat to the Pubbies. They better pick up the gauntlet he threw down .. pass it on!
(And he still makes me swoony .. ;)
The tenor Orin Hatch introduced, Steve Amerson, is incredible.
The pubbies were pathetic compared to Voight in the segment that preceded chow time. It was a shame. While they may be intelligent, they’re depressing to watch knowing what’s at stake.
HOORAY John Voight! (Besides, I always identifed with your character more than Ratso)
Contrast and compare. According to the AP, they didn't raise the amount of funds some expected. Good move, GOP. I guess you should have gone with Palin after all.
Thanks for posting.
“GOPs role as a reform party.”
Yep, our turn to be the party of change.
Yeah, that was excellent. AND he actually included Rush...woooo. I wish the Pubbies would listen to this, listen to VP Cheney, LISTEN TO RUSH, and MAN UP!
My pleasure .. ;)
bump for later
Awesome, thank God someone is speaking the truth and speaking for all of us.
A must watch C-Span video.
The comments at the Voight “closing remarks” site are so revealing of Obomba voters.....what morons.
Jon Voight was awesome! God bless the man.
I’m seeing some real hope. We are in a huge battle.
All of us must do our part to get rid of the Demons who infest our wonderful United States of America.
” Listening to his speech, I thought the applause was light ans hesitant for his pithy comments. “
Maybe they were afraid the cameras would catch them clapping wildly and then be accused of being a racist on Tuesday morning !
WOW...Rush is lookin’ good....I worry about Mark....his heart and all...
Wow! Rush is gonna need a smaller suit soon.
