But Obama said during the campaign that the missile defense system was “unproven” therefore it needed to be cut.

Since the current admin is obsessed with the legal aspects of military force, in view of Gates’ claim the media should ask him if the US is prepared to shoot down a Nork missile in the BOOST PHASE, since that would require a US weapon reaching into DPRK airspace.
If they answer at all, their honest answer would have to be NO.
Which would mean that they’d sit around WATCHING a weapon arc towards Japan and the US and departing DRPK airspace before attacking it.
Fanciful? Alas, no.

HUH? But the media and the left told me that “Star Wars” would not, could not work. That it was an old man's pipe dream.
Does this mean Ronald Reagan was right?
Naa, I am sure Carter, Clinton and 0bama will be given the credit.

But Obama said during the campaign that the missile defense system was unproven therefore it needed to be cut. Oh, come on, don't you know ANYthing? The minute Obambi got into office, his herds of unicorns farted out a fully-functional ABM system. THEN he cut the budget, as promised.

Those words will be the nail in the coffin of this administration. Second to last nail. The last nail in the coffin will be when Fauxbama refuses to nuke NK after most of Los Angeles relocated to the upper atmosphere...because they don't have any more missiles and don't present any more of a threat, or they promise not to do it again, or the Chinese ambassador issued a stern warning AND was wearing a red shirt (signifying that he's really, really upset and serious), or ....
This is almost as stupid as Dean Acheson saying that South Korea is outside of our defensive cordon. In retrospect, it may turn out to be far, far more stupid.
What kind of a political whore is Gates, anyway, working for a defense-gutting, appeasement junkie like Fauxbama?

At this time, I would be inclined to say it’s way too premature to be worried about NK launching a missile our way.
It’s not like you head down to WallyWorld and pick yerself up a ballistic missile inertial guidance system.
If they did try a launch against Seattle, it would be considered a blazing success if they hit Caracas, Venezuela!

You and me both, man. It would boost the odds if we flew over at night and just bombed the 12 places in the whole country that have lights on. That would probably significantly diminish the threat from their “dear leader”.
