Somehow this does not surprise me. McCain has always been an idiot and now he is proving that beyond a shadow of a doubt.
It’s no wonder his daughter acts like she does, her gene pool was not dug that deep or filled with clean water. In fact, I’d say her pool is loaded with stagnant water.

Whew. That was close. And to think we almost elected this guy President. I would do anything to be whining about drilling in anwar and illegal aliens compared to what we are facing now.
To: rabscuttle385
That’s Ok we don’t need to drill for oil. I’m sure there are lots and lots of nice people in the world who will sell us oil for a fair price. Donchathink?
To: Texas Eagle
Wouldn’t that make it 20 years?

>>>> Ive heard that it will be 10 yrs before we get any oil anyway. <<<<<<
The distance from the ANWR fields to the existing Alaska Pipeline is about 100 miles.
The 700 mile long Pipeline was built in three years start to finish.
So let’s speculate that the new 100 mile “feeder” can be built and connected in 6 to 12 months, plus permit and planning time (another 6 to 12 months?).
“10 years” seems a bit excessive.

The RAT Congress would've passed everything under McCain that they've passed under Ubama. You think McCain woulda had the balls to veto anything the RAT Congress sent to his desk?
I don't.
The only difference between McCain and Ubama is a birth certificate.

Wouldnt that make it 20 years?Yes. And 10 years from now when they say it won't produce oil for at least 109 years, that will make it 30 years.
Or would that make it 40 years?

Ditto that! McCain and all the others are TOTALLY unreasonable. While we work on alternatives, petroleum is IT. Besides gas, look at all the things made from it. To NOT drill our own resources will send our finances to others; it will NOT save the planet; and when alternatives come in, we will be sitting on billions that could have been used to save our economy and supply good paying jobs.
If we ever have another 911, and I pray we don't, let it hit the capital and jar some of these people loose from their set ways.

McCain, Powell, Gingrich, and the rest are only going to cost us election after election with this BS.
There are over 300 million people living in this Nation, and we need fuel to continue our progress.
Anything less than enhanced oil exploration and nuclear power plants is going to result in a totally inefficient and unacceptable lack of resources.
Solar power and wind mills ain't gonna cut it for over 300 million people.

McCain belongs in a retirement home, not in a position of responsibility where he is affecting our future with his total lack of realistic goals.

"McCain, Powell, Gingrich, and the rest are only going to cost us election after election with this BS."Agree completely. McCain and Powell are beyond salvaging. What little hope I had for Newt has been drained away with his latest statement on "inclusiveness". All three are utter losers.

McCain is going to stick around if he can; he plans to turn his senate seat over to his daughter when she comes of age.

Precisely, and don't forget that Gingrich also took a shot at Rush recently.
He went on a rant on MSLSD, and referred to Rush as "irrational" because Rush wants Obama's push for America's destruction to FAIL.
Gingrich is a sure loser in any future election because Conservatives know full well that he will say anything to anyone so long as he stays popular.
He is washed up, and needs to go away.

Someone in the Republican party should take a picture of a S. Cal wind farm with hundreds of turbines ruining the view of a valley near Palm Springs - then they should ask, "If windmills can cover the landscape why not a few quiet gas or oil wells?" If a they took a picture of a soalr farm in the deseart they could ask, "Why are these soalr panels OK but an oil well that takes of 10% is not OK?"
The problem is that Republican leaders are out of touch with working people, so they can't figure out the correct message.
