Wichita, Kansas (AHN) - The Women's Health Care Services, the only abortion clinic in Wichita, Kansas, will be closed permanently effective immediately, the family of the murdered doctor running the facility announced on Tuesday.

The lawyers of Dr. George Tiller's family made the announcement on behalf of their client.

"The Tiller family wishes to assure Dr. Tiller's past patients that the privacy of their medical histories and patient records will remain as fiercely protected now and in the future as they were during Dr. Tiller's lifetime," the family said in a statement, according to Kansascity.com.

The Women's Health Care Services has been closed since May 31, when Tiller was shot dead at his Wichita church by an anti-abortion activist Scott P. Roeder. Tiller had provided late-term abortions to women in the clinic.

I guess it’s difficult to find those who are willing to risk their life for the right to deprive others of theirs.

I also “take no pleasure” in this guy getting killed, but I also didn’t care. He chose a “live by the sword” kind of life and it came back around on him. Closing his profitable Temple of the Barbaric Sacrament suits me just fine and, if the only way it could get done was this way, so be it.

I agree with you, well said. However I am very happy the family closed that place down.

I agree. I thought of it as a sort of late term abortion.

I applaud the familes “choice” in permanently shuttering this facility.

I do not condone the murder in any way and it brings me no comfort that this is what it took to close the facility.

Wow, no more abortions here in Wichita...

It wasn’t long ago the second clinic in Wichita closed down.

Getting a warm fuzzy feeling. :)

Its like winning a baseball game because the other teams star pitcher got hurt. Its a victory, but its just not the way you want to win.

Agreed. I hope this wakes people up to what a tragedy abortion is for everyone involved in the horrific process.

You reap what you sow. His eternity in hell will be the reward he worked for in life.

According to the Apostle Paul, the Lord is able to work "all things" together for good (for those who love Him and are called to His purpose) - even in the the murder of Tiller, the Lord has been able to use an evil act to "work HIS will."

Many times in the Old Testament, the Lord God was able to use evil men, Nebuchadezzar, for instance, to punish His Chosen Jews who shook their fists in his face for 490 years.

He allowed them to "languish" in Babylon for 70 years to "remember" Him and His promises to them.

God is good. Tiller is dead. I say ‘Good for God’.

The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away. On May 31st, it was Tiller the Killer’s turn to be ‘taken away’.

And I have not shed one tear for him, nor will I ever.

I am not taking pleasure in his death per se, but in the knowledge that he can kill no more and that his killing field is shut down.
