Sorry to disagree but that's not true.
They have the power to garnish your wages and/or imprison you for not paying your taxes. You do not have the power to imprison them for squandering your money.
It would take a tax uprising such that they are incapable of garnishing/imprisoning everyone who does it in order to stop it. Nothing short of that will accomplish anything besides destroying your own financial well being.
Hank Paulson, under the Bush Administration, backed the same thing nine months ago. So this is a bi-partisan sell out, not just an Obama sell-out.

You have assumed, perhaps, that I was addressing a single individual? Then you say that only a widespread tax uprising would work, but that is exactly what I meant.
As to: Imprison a person for refusing to pay taxes? What does it cost to keep a person in prison for a year, typically?
Garnish wages AND imprison a person, that doesn’t sound very fruitful either.
Garnish wages without imprisonment-—well, now, if a person’s willing to risk imprisonment for tax resistance, certainly he should be willing to abandon a job in which wages can be garnished. Imprisonment means loss of wages and liberty, whereas unemployment is just the loss of wages.
I say again, this is the only feasible way to save America. Don’t let the tyrants get any stronger, and don’t plan on resisting only when they come for your guns.
Will it happen — a tax rebellion big enough to take back the country? I rather doubt it. Too many sheeple.
I hate to be debbie downer but even if we flooded our reps switchboards for 8 days straight on watches around the clock Obama will still get the votes and get this done.
