2 People Shot at U.S. Holocaust Museum
A gunman armed with a shotgun walked into the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in downtown Washington today and opened fire on a security guard before being shot and seriously wounded by two other guards, authorities said.
2 People Shot at U.S. Holocaust Museum The security guard and the gunman were both transported to George Washington University Hospital with serious injuries, police said. A hospital spokesperson declined to release information on the condition of the two.
A third person sustained minor injuries in the shooting, according to police.
A law enforcement source identified the gunman as James W. von Brunn, who is known to authorities as a white supremacist.
Sgt. David Schlosser, a spokesman for the U.S. Park Police, said the security guard and the gunman were the only two persons who were hit by gunshots. Initial reports said at least one other person sustained gunshot wounds.
He said the museum has been "completely secured and evacuated."

Parallax View.
I wonder how the outrage will compare to two servicemenn gunned down...
Was he shot by the guard in back? Cuz I was wondering how long it takes to turn around with a cane and oxygen bottle
How did he get in with a shotgun?
I doubt this guy was a freeper
We don’t welcome anti-semitic Aryan Nation nuts here, and we zot them as soon as they are detected.
Trying to pin this event on FR is assinine.
Too bad some of his racist drivel was posted here.
Agreed.
I still don’t know the name or condition of the second soldier. Weird.
Prayers up for the brave museum guard who acted heroically in stopping this maniac.
Prayers for his family, as they start their long vigil at his bedside.
Uh oh...Jim probably needs to see this...
Who’s ‘wannabegeek’?
I agree with that.
He wasn't, but some of his crap was posted here.
I am suprised his nonsense was posted here.
someone keeps changing his wiki
Imagine that.
Look for the mods to crack down hard on stuff like this. Also look for the left to try to finger us.
It’s an open forum. Some crap is bound to be posted here.
Conspiracy theorists and assorted nuts are shot down pretty quickly by the local residents. With words, that is.
Obama is missing!

Way to go wannabegeek. What insight!
:/
Link blaming Freepers
___________
They are delusional. They might want to check Democratic Underground. Freepers always stick up for Israel and Jews, over at DU most of them do not like Jews or Israel. Maybe I should post some of their many anti Semitic comments here.
Exactly right. Democratic Underground is Jew-hater central.
Turns out this guy was a Journalism major and film-producer so maybe the FBI can watch the press and Hollywood while they’re at it.
If you'd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

I’m CERTAIN he wasn’t. He would be banned in 2 seconds for spewing that crap here. We are defenders of Israel.
On the opening day of the Holocaust Museum, a friend of mine set up a small table near the entrance, with the bodies of babies retrieved from dumpsters in Washington, Maryland, and Virginia. When people saw what they were, they let loose a torrent of curses—at her. Then they went inside to participate in lamenting the Holocaust.
I have never had the slightest interest in visiting the hypocritical, morally hollow “Holocaust Museum.”

Indeed. I’m really sick of all the Obama conspiracy theory stuff being posted here — much of it welcomed with open arms. It makes me wonder whose behind the overall effort, because as far as I can tell, the only thing it’s accomplishing is to distract people from the serious matters on which the Obama admnistration needs to be energetically opposed.
Odd. I posted my post #29 as a reply to you, but then it showed up as not being “To” anyone.
The comments by those at that link are truly amazing. They take a few comments on FR (which could be posted by any one of the people at that other site - anyone can get onto FR and post) and try to use that as evidence of the hatefulness of conservatives in this country. What’s truly amazing to me is the ignorance of their own hatred following 9/11 when people like that tried to blame that day on Bush (claiming that the Bush Admin either purpetrated the attacks or knew about them and did nothing). Or, how these people cheered on comments made by Alex Balwin when he called for having the GOP speaker of the house stoned to death (along with his family) during the Clinton Impeachment hearings. Or how about a more recent example? David Letterman’s comments about Sarah Palin and her 14 year old daughter??? I guess that one slipped by them?
Don’t let the door hit ya on the way out.
Agreed ... about the same as connecting that pinhead Fred Phelps with FR. (Oops, didn’t mean to give them any ideas.)
On Fox News coverage before 3PM I noticed an interesting comment by national security correspondent Catherine Herridge. Discussing the recent Homeland Security alert warning about attacks by white supremecists she said (paraphrased):
‘The lone gunman scenario has been the chief concern among national security officials since the inauguration.’
This suggests that, perhaps understandably, national security officials have switched their focus from attacks on the US and its citizens from coordinated international terrorists to a focus on protecting Obama from personal assasination attempts.
I certainly don’t want to see the TOTUS assassinated, I’m relishing defeating him at the ballot box in 2010 and 2012.
But it does seem to me to be somewhat selfish of Obama to order the entire national security apparatus to focus on his personal security (like he doesn’t have enough) at the expense of leaving US citizens more vulneable.
Posting that you seriously question if Obama is a natural born citizen is by no means an indicator that someone is going to instigate a shooting at the Holocaust Memorial.
Good grief. Will you folks please quit sounding like DU infiltrators.
Relax. People post a variety of stuff here, including a lot that they disagree with. The “Obama Birth Certificate” stuff has been pretty widespread on a lot of sites that have no connection to white supremacists. I have no idea who “wannabegeek” was (he is now a “nobody by that name” on FR), but I’m not afraid of posting responses to that sort of article, because I know that MY post will in no way voice support for white supremacism (or kooky conspiracy theories either).
Don’t let yourself be intimidated out of helping to strengthen this fine forum, which can and does do a lot of good. That’s what the neo-Nazi trolls are aiming for when they try to sneak their stuff on here. Don’t play into their hands.
I’m surprised you are still here.
LEAVE ALREADY
You’re absolutely correct.
At this point, that crap (Obama’s Birth Certificate nonsense) attracts all of the dumbasses, kooks and contrarians. All together searching for anything but the truth.
I was interested when it first came to light. But once the Republican Governor of Hawaii (the authority on the subject) said that the certicifate was authentic and would remain private (as the law prescribes), then it was a done issue.
All that remains now are the Joan of Ark complexed whackjobs who cant function without some sort of conspiracy being carried out against them.
Of course not, but a lot of the stuff that’s been posted here on the “Obama’s Birth Certificate” topic (both as articles and as posts in response) has been pure loony, ranting conspiracy garbage. And every time somebody starts one of those threads, many FReepers take the bait and respond with eagerly supportive posts.
Perhaps some of it did sound like conspiracy garbage. As long as it was mere talk and didn’t constitute threats to anyone, I’m at a loss why you would bring that stuff up now, as if to promote the idea such talk justifies the leftist slams of FR.
He took Rev. Wright’s words to heart, and went to get “dem Joos” outta da way.
Stating that it was authentic means absolutely nothing, when some of the state birth certificates were issued to cover children who had been born elsewhere, but had no documentation of birth.
Obama’s own grandmother stated she was present at his birth in Kenya.
To be honest, you’re the one who comes off looking like the kook on this topic.
I cant fault him for his position. Half of me agrees with him. Too many whackjobs and kneejerk contrarians are chiming in around here.
We’re not Contrarians opposing for the sake of opposition, we’re Conservatives.
And above all else we should value the truth. Not nitwit anti-Obama HaterAde and conspiracy theories (ESPECIALLY those espoused by nutcakes).
Most likely you are already on several watch lists as most Americans already are. You can leave now, but the damage is already done. Have fun defending and watching freedom and the Republic elswhere.
On the way out, don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya. ;)
