Howard Dean: Rep. Gingrey an embarrassment

There were some serious fireworks on C-SPAN Wednesday as former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean went after two GOP lawmakers-cum-physicians.
It all started earlier this week when physician-turned-Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-Ga.) said he had recently read that Deans wife, Dr. Elizabeth Steinberg, was no longer taking Medicaid patients because the government reimbursement rates are too low.
Dean fired back on Wednesday, saying, Dr. Gingrey is just plain wrong. Hes an embarrassment. First of all, my wife is not named Elizabeth, as her name is Judith. Second of all, she does accept Medicaid patients, so this fellow simply doesnt know what hes talking about. Its a good thing hes in Congress, because Id hate to see what hed do to patients.
But Dean wasnt done criticizing the healthcare views of Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), an OB/GYN who had preceded Dean on C-SPANs Washington Journal.
Dean, a physician, didnt take kindly to Coburns views on Democratic plans on healthcare reform: The senator is wrong. Hes well-intentioned, hes a physician, I respect that, but hes wrong about economics.
John Hart, Coburns communications director, said, Like President Obama, Dr. Coburn has lamented the fact that our politics are stuck in the past. Unfortunately, we keep re-litigating the 1960s because Dr. Dean and others want to re-legislate the 1960s. Dr. Deans plan continues the stale 1960s philosophy that a little more government spending and intervention will fix healthcare.
Dean told ITK in an e-mail, Congressman Gingrey is wrong and evidently believes that repeating information that is false will make it true.

Howie is an economist? Didn't think so. From the Maha -
Erie, Pennsylvania, Laura, great to have you on the EIB Network. Hi.
CALLER: Hi. Mega optimistic dittos, and thank you for taking the slings and arrows from the other side for all of us.
RUSH: Thank you, madam.
CALLER: Oh, you're just our hero. I listened to Governor Dean this morning and there were some new things on this government health care proposal that he supports Obama's plan. He said that definitely he believes that illegal alien children should be covered, but not the adults. He said that you will have an option to join the government plan or you can stay with your insurance that you have through your employer.
RUSH: That's not going to happen.
CALLER: Well, I was going --
RUSH: Once the public option -- see, this is a trick that they're all using to get people to go along with this. They're going to try to convince people that they're still going to be able to opt out of the government plan and have their own private -- and that won't happen. They're going to close 'em down. And once they get national health care, businesses are going to get rid of their health care plans. They want to. They want to off-load them. They're going to be happy for the government to take it over.
Accusing him of the Big Lie now? C'mon Howard you can do better than that.
Well is it true that “Judith” Dean has stopped taking Medicare patients? Link for this?
Howard Dean is an expert on “embarrassments”.
Howard Dean is human garbage.
Phil Gingrey is not the brightest bulb in our Georgia GOP delegation to the House. He is frequently wrong about a lot of things. He is also one of those who told Rush to shut up and then took it back and apologized.
We need to see Dean’s emails and cell phone records-—he might be taking orders from foreign government demanding to change US laws.
