Former Miss Calif: Gay comment cost me my crown
Today ^ | 6/12/09 | Mike Celizic

She was fired for her stand against same-sex marriage and nothing else, former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean said Friday, adding that allegations that she did not discharge her duties are false.

“I’m here talking to you because of the answer I gave on that stage,” Prejean told TODAY’s Matt Lauer Friday from San Diego. “It’s a test to Americans’ tolerance. It needs to be a two-way street and it’s not. This is about me stating my beliefs about same-sex marriage, and that’s the reason why we’re here today.”

I see her as the big winner here too.

The reality of our world is that the controversial ones are the ones we remember....Look at Vanessa Williams...boy, did she turn out to be a talent. Still gorgeous and still going strong!

Yep, reading the entire article, this woman was set up to be dethroned. Between wimps Lewis & Trump, Prejean didn’t stand a chance to keep her title. At least this is a snapshot as to the politics that go on behind the door.

I quit watch pageants years ago. They don’t have any allure.

I can’t really disagree with anything you’ve said: of course you’re right. I’d quite like to see her run for Governor of California. It would be good to see a real Conservative running that place for a change. Arnie has been such a disappointment.

I suspect she is relieved to be out of it all......and the snarky guy tried to set her up for a gay event..oh, but not officially as Miss CA...oh, yeah, she would have been fired then when it all went bad.....she did not play along and now she is fired anyway.

this is round two, her second 15 minutes...which she will attempt to whip into a career of sorts. Good Luck to her, she seems very nice.

There’s an EASY BUTTON for this dilemma.

Let’s hold a RED contest for conservatives,
and a BLUE contest for liberals.

There. Fixed it.

People don't understand it's war out there. I told an old of mine, a gay man, a man I've known since high school that I was for Prop 8 and he cut me out of his life right there and then.

The other side of the coin is that I've let go of many of my old friends for just being hateful, ignorant libs who I blame for the destruction of this country. I've also bid adieu to many of my Jewish friends and relatives who I believe are signing our death warrants as Jews by supporting liberal candidates.

We are ready for a civil war in this country...the litmus test for a civil war is if brother can fight against brother..and I believe the answer to that question is yes.

The only thing that gives me some comfort is that our side has the guns! :)

I would have a serious problem kowtowing to egomaniac Donald Trump & the queer community too.

Trump came out of this the biggest loser of all.

Elevating someone like Perez Hilton to mainstream entertainment is really another of the big issues of the disintigration of our culture. For some reason, Trump thinks he can make money from him. He popped up on celebrity apprentice this month and was judging the likes of Hershel Walker and Jesse James. We must as a society say NO to this. Trump is going to regret making a deal with this devil. I think he already has. What Perez does and how he makes his money is symbolic of everything that's wrong with our culture.

But the bottom line is that our culture is become "GAYIFIED." Why do you think so much emphasis is on FASHION, and DESIGN and Looks and all that is superficial? I have many gay friends whom I love, but as a rule they are mean...they are catty and they will backstab you if you get in their way. And that's our culture today.

Yep, no one from the pageant ever condemned him for his comments. Sissy Trump would not even go as far as saying whether Hilton could be a judge again or not. It was shameful behavior for a judge.

Miss California USA Carrie Prejean seems to be the whole package. Those pictures of her on the contest stage, are absolutely stunning. (and I’m generally a fan of brunettes) Her ability to think reasoned thoughts, also seems to reveal a person who is attractive not only physically, but mentally.

She has been addressing the answer to the question she was asked during the pageant, because that’s all people want her to talk about. She hasn’t been hateful. She’s just honest about her view of the matter. She’s not forcing her comments on anyone. She is being asked to talk about it. What’s the girl to do?

The nit-wit that asked her the question is the person who should have his ass kicked every which way but loose, but then who wants to address the reality of that? He asked a question she was hog-tied to answer, and then she is considered the boorish person.

She didn’t go on stage to tell people what her views on homosexual marriage were. She was demanded to respond directly to a question on the subject, as part of her involvement in the pageant process. And since monetary gain and contractual benefits hinged on it, I think that is highly objectionable.

Are answers to questions of buying off on homosexual demands now going to be required of all Miss USA contestants?

If what has transpired since Prejean answered that question honestly isn’t actionable, I’d like to know what is.

Miss Prejean, I respect your answer and how you have conducted yourself to this point. Good for you.

I really believe that ALL of them were in on this charade.

And ALL of them are making a fortune and advancing their own agenda/careers on this. Really now...this has played on and on so long with the so called “shocking twists and turns” its almost like a Lifetime Movie.

Carrie may be very beautiful and talented, but I am so not believing all her “victim” stuff. it has gone on WAY too long.. and way too much Media hogging with ALL of them.
