The riots and unrest are not limited to Tehran. Here are a few videos, showing what's happening in other major cities in Iran. The one slogan chanted everywhere is "Marg bar dictator," or "Down with dictator."

Having this spread outside Tehran means critical mass is near.
Same thing happened in China and then Tienanmen happened.
I expect a hard line crackdown and a bloody beat down.
Maybe this is going to be the revolution we were hoping for.
allahpunditRT @iran09: Police has surrounded students in Univ. of Tehran, shooting everybody with plastic bullets, and there’s no way in or out!

Yes.
I pray they will (somehow) succeed in bringing down first the cabinet, and then the Supreme Leader.
But I fear you are right that a bloody crackdown ala Tiananmen is in the cards. The Revolution is yet without arms, and the outside is sitting idly.
They use an English word?
What is important now is that the protests must be sustained over weeks, if not months. There are indications that on Thursday a massive strike will follow to bring the country to a standstill.
This is how it played in 1978/1979 as well.

Modern Persian is riddled with French and English words for a lot of things.
There’s lots of talk about shooting students and other stuff coming out on twitter, too...
Twittered rumor that the Army will announce neutrality in the internal fight!
This is also what happened in 1979.
It would be the momentus shift if some Army Generals would pull a coup against the mullahs, ala Zahedi and Nassiri in 1953 against Mossadegh.
Asking foreign journalists to leave: http://ironicsurrealism.blogivists.com/2009/06/13/iran-erupts-sham-election-ignites-heated-protests-video-photos/
I’ve been wondering what side the army would take...if they back the government, then it’s all over except for the roundup.
Even neutrality is good.
I’ve seen video where gunshots can be heard. People have been killed
Fascinating read. Those poor unfortunate people have nowhere to go and can do nothing about it except to holler in the streets.
That could be us someday soon.
Apparently. Farsi has a lot of English loan words.
I’ve seen this Japanese, Korean and a few other languages. English, in many ways, is the defacto universal language (even if it’s just bits and pieces).
Exposure to other types of media and cultures. I see it a lot in Japan, Korea and the Phillipeans.
Wondering in any other coutry would help in the revolution (in the background and shadows).
Sounds like the students are throwing down......God help them.
There’ve been reports of gunfire, plastic bullets and real ones...

Amazing. Some of these photos should be candidates for the Pulitzer. This guy is a more profound journalist than all of our MSM, combined - and I’ve only seen his pictures.

Tweet from Change_for_Iran: Students & people fighting back a large group of police & Basij right now at university of physics! I’m going to join them. #iranelection
Where is the Shahs son? he should be leading the revolution! Restore the Monarchy—and bring back the constitution. The rebels must offer something to replace the Mullahs.
Reza Pahlavi is in the US leading the largest group of pro-Western dissidents.
Per his own words he wants a free referendum on the future shape of government in Iran. He is willing if they want the Constitutional monarchy restored, but he is not insisting on it.
I’d like a restored Monarchy with a figurehead king (like Belgium, as the Iranian constitution demands), but this is not the point right now.
A republic either Presidential or Parliamentary is just as good.
The most important thing is the removal of the current islamic regime.
Don’t fight ‘em KILL ‘em. Cut Bash Burn you got gasoline right. Steal cars and ram them. Cut electricity to Government buildings and military installations. Sabotage bridges. Video and upload. Fight in shifts, don’t let the cops sleep.
Hit the airports and ports and refinery
Set up a Free Iran in Eastern Iran and ask for American and Saudi recognition and assistance
Destroy the regime before that regime uses you as a human shield against Israeli nukes.

from Change_In_Iran tired & beaten. we couldn’t break through their wall, they were too many & we were no match for an entire army of special forces
And Obama sits idly by.
And the US news sources are still underreporting...
saw this: RT @TehranBureau My friends who work in the tehran hospitals said the number of injured was staggering #iranelection
Sounds like wishful thinking to me. I figure that the regime owns the army.
I wonder how the government and the public in Iraq are reacting to all this.

You hear nonsense rumors of the former Shah’s kid leading a revolt but seriously I do not hold out any hope. And this ass clown president will not help ANY insurrection.
Your second sentence is unfortunately correct.
But where did I claim that Reza Pahlavi was “leading a revolt”? He is a prominent opposition personality in exile.
@Change_for_Iran: to other sources: this isn’t the police! police is still outside! we’re under attack by Ansar-Hezbolah. #iranelection
