Protestors have started a "Fire David Letterman" website and are planning to protest the talk show host for jokes her made about Alaska governor Sarah Palin and her daughter Willow.
The protest is being organized by New York State Assemblyman Brian Kolb, attorney Gwendolyn Lindsay-Jackson, and radio talk show host John Ziegler. Earlier in the week, Ziegler was cut off during an interview with MSNBC about the Palin-Letterman controversy.
The Fire David Letterman rally will take place on Tuesday, June 16 at the Ed Sullivan Theater at 4:30pm, an hour before the taping of Letterman's show.

Ping!
For those that can attend or have friends/family that might be interested in protesting.
I’d be really surprised if this would be a success in NYC.
There were 20,000 in Auburn to rally for Palin.
CBS Now Known Distributor of Verbal Child Porn - David Letterman Promotes
This protest is stupid, it will just give him more material for jokes and his ratings will go higher. Who was the mole from the Letterman camp that organized this?
Count me out. Beginning with the Don Imus affair, I became fed up with these campaigns to “fire people.” Letterman may be a scumbag but he is entitled to his opinion (as was Imus).
CBS’s different reactions when David Feherty made anti-Obama comments and was made to appologize immediately. (And he was only a golf analyst) Letterman, who is a much more prominent member of CBS “talent team” (I use the phrase lightly) was allowed to skate....
hh
The words of David Letterman, obnoxious or otherwise, do not merit this much attention.
SnakeDoc
The only mole here is you...
As of last Friday I found the following information:
Symbol: CBSA
Closing Price: $8.24
Shares outstanding: 57,707,000
51% ownership would be 29,430,570 shares. Thus only approximately 300,000 people would have to purchase 100 shares each. I think a much smaller ownership of say 10% would get their attention.
I saw an interview on Fox where a conservative strategist had suggested a group of wealthy conservatives get together to purchase on of the three liberal networks.
Thoughts?
It was a sleazy opinion of a scumbag but it was still an opinion.....and your point is?
Great idea for those in NY area.
Joking about the statutory rape of a 14-year-old passes for opinion nowadays?
As long as you are there... How to get tickets to be in the Late Show audience:
1.) Submit your request on-line using our On-line Ticket Form or
2.) Visit the theater during specified hours and submit an In-Person Request or
3.) For a limited time, we are accepting requests for Group Tickets If you are unable to acquire tickets through one of the above methods, you may call our standby phone line at 11:00 a.m. the day of the taping you wish to attend. We no longer accept written requests for tickets through the mail.
What if we pick a common date, all FreeP'ers try to get tickets and then not show, leaving him with an empty or nearly empty room. Silly thought but one I wanted to share. I know it is very juvenile but what the heck?
Fire Paul and the weird drummer too for good measure.
opinions can be good, bad, evil. Again, what is your point?
They have enough standbys, I think, to fill the seats if you do not show.
You could go to the show, and only laugh when he is funny.
Do you consider joking about statutory rape on national tv to be an opinion?

Agreed, not for some of us to join the baying of the crowd. Again, it is their right to do so of course. What should be considered is that the likes of Letterman and indeed Maher, expose a whole mentality . Only by watching them and noting what they say can we reveal to others just what that mentality is.
It is the left wing politics of denigration and indeed hate of a certain kind. It might take a master in psychology to give a complete idea of what drives these men. For myself, with what I have observed over too many years, I would say that such men are basically unhappy men.
Let them keep on talking and see them eventually destroy themselves, or find religion or something then join the human race.
Pardon the old sermon.
Well said!

Am I the only one questioning the first sentence?

Actually I think you have a great idea. The problem will be convincing 300,000 conservatives to go along with you and stay on the same page.
If I had the money I would do it!
Kelly just announced rally on FOX news. WHo is John she’s interviewing?
Just as you are. . .humm
EXCELLENT...thankyou !!
John Ziegler? The producer of the election documentary “Media Malpractice”.
Thanks...I keep the TV on FOX all day and often just gets bits of stories.
Yes, after all, just look at what offending the public did for Rosie O'Donnell and the Dixie Chicks.
A Big Bump for the Protest!
Is this protest Letterman’s idea?
Onward christian soldiers!!
Calling my local CBS affiliate today and calling local businesses who advertise on CBS. I am just one, but so are you and together we make two.
I think you are right--people aren't just protesting Letterman. They're sick of the kind of demeaning, degrading rants that pass themselves off as comedy. Time to return some insults. Let's see how much guts they have. I suspect they're sniveling cowards under all those f-bombs.
And it's smart Alinsky for our side. We've got to play a tougher game.
Actually I think those comments were about Pelosi and Reid, and he said them on some obscure web site, not during a golf telecast.
