GOP activist uses Facebook to compare first lady to gorilla (Rape OK, Gorilla Outrageous)

You see, according to a report by WIS10 TV in Columbia, S.C., Rusty DePass, a prominent Republican Party activist, happened to see a Facebook post by an aide to state Attorney General Henry McMaster.

The post described an escape by a gorilla on Friday from the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia.

DePass, once a state Senate candidate, responded to the post with these words: "I'm sure it's just one of Michelle's ancestors - probably harmless."

--

Columbia Mayor Bob Coble appears to have seen no clear jest at all. He told WIS10: "You know, I think the comment is inappropriate. It's a racist comment."

Truthfully, both are outrageous. When someone with GOP ties does such things, it makes it easier for the Dems to allege we’re all racists. And the Press is happy to report it as fact.

Wouldn’t most leftists, who reject Creation, say that the poster was scientifically correct?

Why not agree that both were idiotic?

Probably so, Bob. Deal with living in an imperfect world.

I think it is funny. I believe it is covered by the 1st Amendment.

Don’t continue to reinforce the notion to the left that all they have to do is call us “racists” and we’ll stop criticizing them.

That’s right, Bush the Chimp and nobody complained. But this is also why the press, and everybody else spends so much time assuring each other that the very very average looking Michelle is “beautiful”. To do otherwise could be evidence of latent racism.

Good point!

I myself would not have made this comment, or the Letterman “rape” ones either.

Neither would I. There’s just a whole lot of hypocrisy in the “outrage.”

It’s a tasteless comment. We don’t need to defend it, it ought not be defended.

I predict by the end of the day, the MSM will be obsessed by this political NOBODY's Facebook comment when we have a current Vice President who said "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," while referring to Obama during the primary race. As far as I'm concerned, that's the same or insinuating that Jessie Jackson "is not" articulate and bright and clean or a nice-looking guy. How does a white American male get away with saying something like that???

I would not have made these kind of comments about either the Bushes or the Obamas.

But it is ironic - and striking - that the media seldom if ever mentioned the Bush hatred, and now is looking for any reason to tag Obama opponents as “haters.”

Most Americans don’t even know that a book, a play and a movie were made depicting the assassination of George W. Bush, while he was president. Would the media treat any similar work about Obama the same way? To ask that question is to answer it.
