BAGHDAD The U.S. military has assessed that Iranian-backed Shi'ite forces were engaged in a military buildup in Iraq.
Officials said the military has determined that Shi'ite forces financed and sponsored by Iran were accelerating weapons acquisition to prepare for a civil war in Iraq.
They said Shi'ite militias, particularly the Mahdi Army, have concluded that the weapons would be required against Sunni forces financed by Saudi Arabia in a renewed power struggle.
"Right now, everybody is waiting to see whether and how fast the United States withdraws from Iraq," an official said
From what I’ve read in recent days, the Iraqi Cabinet is urging its parliament to get US forces out of the country well ahead of Mr. Obama’s draw down date.
Well, if that’s the case, good luck to them. They’re going to need it.
Maybe civil war will erupt in Iran before it does in Iraq.
Yep, 0zero will succeed in making all the Dem Iraq predictions in 2006 come true, that the US will LOSE in Iraq. That will soon be followed by a LOSS in Afganistan, and then Pakistan will fall to the Taliban.
Expect increasing violence in Iraq as troops are drawn down, especially with a stronger “I’m A Nut Job” in power in Iran after 0zero does nothing about the coup happening right now.
Then watch all the other Middle East dominoes fall, like Lebannon, West Bank, Gaza, Jordan, Egypt, and then the crown jewel - Saudia Arabia. By then all the small gulf states will already be proxies and the fuse will be lit to destroy Israel and armageddon will start.
Watch the vultures circle as Obama knifes us in the back.
Watch the vultures circle as Obama knifes us in the back.
My brother spent 2 yrs. on Baghdad, just came home for good in April. It is a known fact that the different factions are stockpiling, waiting patiently for us to leave, then the sh!t will hit the fan.
