Embassy Suites, part of the Hilton Hotels Corp., pulled advertising on CBS' site because of complaints, company spokeswoman Kendra Walker told TVGuide.com. The company was not an advertiser on Letterman's show.
"We received lots of e-mails from concerned guests and we assessed that the statement that he made was offensive enough to our guests and prospective guests that we elected to take the ads down," Walker said. She declined to release the cost of the ads.
CBS declined to comment Tuesday.

You should call her supervisor at Met Life and ask if they genuinely believe rape of a 14 year old is an acceptable means of selling their product.
I never saw or heard an apology from David Letterman.
I’ve only seen the drive by media claim this was good for David Letterman. How far can this country fall when the mainstream media thinks a 62 year old man making a joke about statutory rape is good for the man.
The left continues to claim that this one or that one said this or that about this child or that child without ever providing proof that anything was ever said.
Example....Rush Limbaugh and John McCain. The left claims both said awful things about Chelsea Clinton but provide as their proof stories claiming it happened, not the proof itself.
This is how the left operates and sadly, some on the right lap it up.

Thank you for withdrawing commercial sponsorship from the david letterman show. As you know many people found letterman’s brand of political humor disgusting. Insinuating that fourteen year old Willow Palin would have public sex in a stadium or be solicited as a prostitute by elliot spitzer is not the type of humor I want to associate with Embassy Suites, Your quick (and I expect permanent) disassociation from the david letterman show ensures I will continue to enjoy staying at Embassy Suites.
It is my understanding that, when Dave’s wife was a child, her parents had to tie a pork chop around her neck before the dog would play with her — JUST KIDDING, DAVE!!!!!!!!

I use Embassy Suites 2-3 times a year when my company’s travel per diem allows it. This is good news, I want to continue to use them, they’re a very good hotel. (Although the Downtown Cleveland one sort of sucks. If you travel to Cleveland, use the Rockside Embassy Suites.)

I’m glad this sponsor chose to do the right thing instead of just blowing it off as ‘an out of proportion response’. If Letterman and Behar had made nasty disgusting crude jokes about HolyO’s children I don’t think there’d been any end to the ‘outrage’ and ‘indignation’, do you? Hypocrites!
And they must not be the only ones, because otherwise, there’s no way Mr. Letterman would have done the full apology thing.

A good retort to that would have gone something like: "Well, 50% of America feels exactly the same way I do about this."
You just have to shake your head at the short-sightedness and sheer stupidity of some businesses that allow their political partisanship to infiltrate their business operations. Do that, and you've just lost at least half of your potential customer base. Unreal...
