SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. -- According to detectives, a 41-year-old man murdered his wife and two young children, before killing himself.
"We have found a firearm, which is a clear indication of what we believe is a homicide-suicide," Seminole County Sheriff Don Eslinger said.
The father is identified as John Wood who officers say killed his wife Cindy, 40, and his two children, 12-year-old Aubrey and 10-year-old Dillon.
The tragic incident happened inside a house in the exclusive, gated Heathrow community in Lake Mary.
The Heathrow neighborhood is quiet and upscale, neighbors say and unaccustomed to violence. The entire Wood family was found dead in their home at 1214 Trentwood Court (see map) Monday by a cleaning lady.
Devastation was written unmistakably on the faces of family and friends who showed up to Trentwood Court Monday afternoon.
The small brown home, tucked on the end of a cul-de-sac in the pricey neighborhood became the scene of a horrific murder-suicide.

I sometimes wonder if there are people who truly don’t understand how to handle money, whether they are rich or poor. I mean, almost like an addiction, the spending gets out of control.
Unless she was the one running up the 100 grand credit cards and insisting on mortgaging the house again to support the standard of living to which she had become accustomed.
No excuse for him to do what he did but the woman ain't always innocent.
Sorry that you had to go through that. I am also sorry for your loss. I understand that he was insulting and whatever words you would like to use but it is a loss just the same especially for your kids. God Bless you!!!
If this is true it may well justify him leaving her.It may even represent an understandable reason why he might kill himself. But it does *not* justify him killing his kids.Or even her.
Not for a minute.
Don’t care how bad things were between the parents, I can’t imagine it ever being bad enough to kill the kids like that.

I completely agree. It infuriates me to keep reading these stories where one family member takes the whole group out. If life sucks for dad, do it like the old days when they jumped out of buildings.
