with all the nutrient rich crap coming out of the loonies in the Jive house, it’s to be expected those plants would grow quickly.

Three months is not so much a miracle if she's growing peas and lettuce. That's especially true if she planted greenhouse plants a couple weeks old instead of planting seeds as the first picture looks like (although those may be other herbs since they don't look like lettuce or peas).

I just harvested my first crop of lettuce this past weekend- and I planted from seeds. It’s possible with lettuce, peas, spinach etc.... or if you started your seeds indoors (like I did with herbs) just don’t let me see her get a tomato this soon!

Three months is not so much a miracle if she's growing peas and lettuce.Seems about right, actually. I planted lettuce and peas in mid-April in SE PA, not much further north - about 2-3 weeks later than normal because of a cold and wet spring. I've harvested lettuce over the last couple of weeks, but mainly as thinnings, and the peas just started blooming a week ago. There hasn't been a lot of sun and it's been pretty cool and wet, so crops are developing slowly this year - my tomato and pepper plants are runts so far.

When did she tend to this miracle garden? As she has spent so much time galivanting around the world sight seeing and going out to dinner with the king and serving dinner to the homeless?
What a crock? Secret Service reduced to gardeners.
When the cameras where not clicking away, all those dead looking plants replaced with mostly grown plants.
And whats the deal they only eat organic and the king going to McDonald's? What they serve organic now?

Drudge is an idiot for headlining this this way. He (or whoever tends his site) obviously is a city slicker who doesn’t know beans about lettuce and peas.

Gotta be. Notice the jewelry, the un-gloved hands and the perpetual scowl.
I have never seen anyone look so uncomfortable trying to look like a typical American. She's probably wondering why she can't just take her rightful place ahead of Jackie Kennedy as "Princess of 1600 Pennsylvania"

I just picked the last of my leaf lettuce and my peas, both snap and regular, were done about 10 days ago. I live about 50 miles south of the district. Too wet this spring, as I cannot even get to the garden to weed.

Honestly, what is the mystery of lettuce growing? Its not any quicker than the ones I planted a few months ago on my porch, LESS THAN 7 MILES FROM THE WHITEHOUSE. I am the farthest thing from an Obama supporter, but even I have to admit most lettuce matures in 45 days.

You’re right. There’s nothing strange about harvesting peas and lettuce now. I grew lettuce from seed, and I harvested a month ago. The few heads of lettuce I neglected to harvest are beginning to bolt, as it’s too hot. I’ve grown snap peas other years, and they are one of the earlier things I harvested. I’m technically even in a cooler zone, I believe, but I’m guessing it doesn’t heat up as quickly in DC. If she had ripe tomatoes and eggplant, I might think something was up, but this is much ado about nothing.
I’m sure there’s a gardener on staff that takes care of this for Michelle, in any case.

For you young ‘uns:
Decades ago we called girls with fat asses “Crisco.”
Crisco was a lard product—fat in the can.
Back then we used “can” instead of butt.
So Crisco = Lard Butt

Hey Bud - can we come over?
To: ssaftler
I wear a basic necklace (cross) and earrings (studs) every day, rain or shine. I don’t see her jewelry as inappropriate.
Gloves - I’d think if she was just harvesting for a photo opp, or just pulling a few things if she really was gardening, she probably wouldn’t need them.
Scowl - to be fair, it’s just a snapshot of a whole event. I agree that a scowl might be her “true face”, but overall this picture is not a bad one.
