DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THIS ONE?
Nealz Nuze ^ | June 17, 2009 | Neal Boortz

Posted on 06/17/2009 2:18:45 PM PDT by Turret Gunner A20

It happened last night.

There was debate on the floor of the House over some amendments to a spending bill. The amendments were offered by Republicans and concerned funding for ACORN and an investigation into Nancy Pelosi's problems with the CIA.

As I understand the story, the Democrats announced that there would be no more votes that evening, and Republicans started heading home.

When enough Republicans were gone the Democrats headed back to the House floor and called for a vote to end debate on all amendments to the spending bill.

Republicans scrambled to get back into the House, but it was too late. Democrats saved Pelosi and ACORN with their little chicanery. For now.

ACORN is a criminal enterprise and needs criminals to help them along.

The very same thing can be said about Congress.

>The tyrant in the WH is daily stripping us of our rights and we can barely muster a few hundred or thousand for tea parties.<

Weren’t the tea parties in the middle of the work week when most of us have to work for a living?

I bet the 4th of July will be much different story, since most of those working folk get that holiday off.

The US Congress under Pelosi is no longer a legitimate branch of government. If the GOP has any principles it would walk out and boycott the proceedings in protest.

We are getting past the point of pitchforks and am moving to the point of heavy armory. This is crazy __________ Will never happen:

HELLO AMERICA – WE BETTER WAKE UP BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE !!!!!!!!! ________________________________________

Once upon a time, I was invited to the White House for a private dinner with the President. I am a respected businessman, with a factory that produces memory chips for computers and portable electronics. There was some talk that my industry was being scrutinized by the administration, but I paid it no mind. I live in a free country. There's nothing that the government can do to me if I've broken no laws. My wealth was earned honestly, and an invitation to dinner with an American President is an honor.

I checked my coat, was greeted by the Chief of Staff, and joined the President in a yellow dining room. We sat across from each other at a table draped in white linen. The Great Seal was embossed on the china. Uniformed staff served our dinner. The meal was served, and I was startled when my waiter suddenly reached out, plucked a dinner roll off my plate, and began nibbling it as he walked back to the kitchen. "Sorry about that," said the President. "Andrew is very hungry." "I don't appreciate..." I began, but as I looked into the calm brown eyes across from me, I felt immediately guilty and petty. It was just a dinner roll. "Of course," I concluded, and reached for my glass. Before I could, however, another waiter reached forward, took the glass away and swallowed the wine in a single gulp."And his brother Eric is very thirsty." said the President.

I didn't say anything. The President is testing my compassion, I thought. I will play along. I don't want to seem unkind. My plate was whisked away before I had tasted a bite. "Eric's children are also quite hungry." With a lurch, I crashed to the floor. My chair had been pulled out from under me. I stood, brushing myself off angrily, and watched as it was carried from the room. "And their grandmother can't stand for long." I excused myself, smiling outwardly, but inside feeling like a fool. Obviously I had been invited to the White House to be sport for some game. I reached for my coat, to find that it had been taken. I turned back to the President."Their grandfather doesn't like the cold."

I wanted to shout- that was my coat! But again, I looked at the placid smiling face of my host and decided I was being a poor sport. I spread my hands helplessly and chuckled. Then I felt my hip pocket and realized my wallet was gone. I excused myself and walked to a phone on an elegant side table. I learned shortly that my credit cards had been maxed out, my bank accounts emptied, my retirement and equity portfolios had vanished, and my wife had been thrown out of our home. Apparently, the waiters and their families were moving in.

The President hadn't moved or spoken as I learned all this, but finally I lowered the phone into its cradle and turned to face him. "Andrew's whole family has made bad financial decisions. They haven't planned for retirement, and they need a house. They recently defaulted on a subprime mortgage. I told them they could have your home. They need it more than you do." My hands were shaking. I felt faint. I stumbled back to the table and knelt on the floor.

The President cheerfully cut his meat, ate his steak and drank his wine. I lowered my eyes and stared at the small gray circles on the tablecloth that were water drops."By the way," He added, "I have just signed an Executive Order nationalizing your factories. I'm firing you as head of your business. I'll be operating the firm now for the benefit of all mankind.. There's a whole bunch of Erics and Andrews out there and they can't come to you for jobs groveling like beggars." I looked up. The President dropped his spoon into the empty ramekin which had been his creme brulee. He drained the last drops of his wine. As the table was cleared, he lit a cigarette and leaned back in his chair. He stared at me. I clung to the edge of the table as if were a ledge and I were a man hanging over an abyss.

I thought of the years behind me, of the life I had lived. The life I had earned with a lifetime of work, risk and struggle. Why was I punished? How had I allowed it to be taken? What game had I played and lost? I looked across the table and noticed with some surprise that there was no game board between us. What had I done wrong? As if answering the unspoken thought, the President suddenly cocked his head, locked his empty eyes to mine, and bared a million teeth, chuckling wryly as he folded his hands he said:

"You should have stopped me at the dinner roll,"

Something is procedurally wrong here. When they close a day’s session, isn’t it officially gaveled closed. How could this happen?

Look at your own tagline!!

Who cares if “most” Americans are too complacent to protest like the Iranians? So are “most” Iranians. But the ones who did take to the streets are getting the attention.

Waiting for the rest of the mob to mobilize before you join in is not exactly the key to victory.

For every person that showed up at a Tea Party, I bet there are a half-dozen more that wish they had the balls to show up...and as Obama works his fascist destruction on America, more and more will grow a pair and get out there with us.

At least 650,000 people took part in the Tax Day Tea Parties across the country on April 15th of this year.

Probably more than a million in actuality.

The Marxist Government we have now wouldn't be interested if it was only hundreds or a few thousand.

Find a July 4th Tea Party in your area and then come to the big one in DC one on Sept 12th, and the First Annual National Free Republic Convention on the weekend Sept 11th to the 13th.

Idiocy. I don’t blame the Dems for their chicanery half-as much as I do the Republicans for being such pigeons.

A childish ploy if ever I read of one, and the Republicans fell for it because they were of the impression they were dealing with adults.

The Republicans need to read this post:

YOU ARE NOT DEALING WITH ADULTS. HAVEN’T BEEN FOR MANY YEARS. WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO FIGURE IT OUT?

Can you provide an attribution for that analogy?

I have always tried to support the economy by buying American, but stuff like this (if true) is enough to make me want to boycott it instead.

Quite frankly, I have had it. Piss, moan , gripe. Obama is getting away with the murder of America and nobody is going to stop him. Nobody, not us, nobody.

I am envious of those Iranians that wish to topple the mullahs over there. At least they are willing to drop everything and take to the streets to fight the oppressors.

Not us though, we sit in our houses and whine as we watch our liberty going down the shitter. Our finances and comfort might be in jeopardy. We try to set these little peaceful protests which get us nowhere.

I am sorry, I am so sick of this. Please, what is it going to take to get rid of this nightmare?

That’s how they slipped the central banks bill, the authorization of The Federal Reserve.

That was in 1913, after they had sunk the Titanic in 1912 because John Jacob Astor was on it and he opposed the central bank.

It’s the Republicans’ fault for being stupid enough to trust Democrats.

I'll get the popcorn, and wait for the Freeperidiots (yes there are quite a few now) who will deliver more sermons about how we can't lower ourselves to their level because blah blah blah...

After all, appearance is the most important thing, even if you are obliterated, and American citizens screwed, in the process.

Get lost, loser.
That's the only brain-dead move the "Republicans" haven't yet tried.

Back to DU with you.
