I doubt HRH Prince William will be allowed in Afghanistan as eventual heir to the throne. But both Princes do the Royal Family proud. Sort of interesting their "last names" is Wales. I thought it would be Windsor.

“both Princes do the Royal Family proud”
I agree. Both young men (especially Harry) are offering much more than just “being princes.”

Diana’s legacy will be her two seemingly well-adjusted sons. She would be so proud.

Seeing that Huey makes my bones ache. I’m surprised I didn’t see blood in my urine after some flights.
And when did they start making them with 3 blades?

The Brits don’t fly the venerable Huey. I’m not sure about the one on the right, but the one on the left appears to be a Brit manufactured Lynx.

Sort of interesting their "last names" is Wales. I thought it would be Windsor A little bit complicated. Unlike Euro monarches (and former monarchies) where the title of Prince is inherited ad infinitum, the UK limits it to grandsons in the male line of a monarch. (so if Charles succeeds, Harry's sons will be Princes. But if Charles predeceases Elizabeth, they won't)
As their honour decsends through their father, whose highest title is Prince of Wales, they are Prince William of Wales, and Prince Harry of Wales.
ergo they take the surname of Wales

The cabin and tail boom are exact copies of the Huey even down to the POS skid. The engine cowling and main rotor look like aftermarket parts. I wonder if they subbed out parts of the manufacturing to Bell?

You’re not fooling me. That’s a Huey with a souped-up engine. I bet the rudder pedals say “Bell” in block letters.

Its absolutely a UH 1 body, the paint scheme is different so it makes it look somewhat different. There are four rotars on that helicopter in the photo, no helicopter could fly with three rotars.

Aren’t these two already mollycoddled? Aren’t they regularly tabloided with skanks, drunkeness, etc.?
Or am I confusing them with some other royal family?

You are correct
DEFENCE HELICOPTER FLYING SCHOOL LAUNCHED
Nicholas Soames, the Armed Forces Minister, said today that FBS Limited, in conjunction with the military, is the preferred tenderer for the operation of a Single tri-Service Defence Helicopter Flying School. The School will be located at RAF Shawbury and will be responsible for training approximately 230 students a year from April 1997. [snip]
FBS Limited is a joint venture company comprising FR Aviation, Bristow Helicopters Limited and SERCo Defence Limited who, between them, have extensive experience working with the Services. FBS Limited propose to use 38 AS350BA Squirrel single engine and nine Bell 412 twin engined helicopters which would be staffed by a mixture of 76 military and 45 civilian flying instructors. FBS Limited would be responsible for the provision and maintenance of the helicopter fleet and the majority of ground school and support facilities.

The AS 350 has 3 blades and the cabin is markedly different from that pictured.
