Anger after President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was re-elected led to the biggest street demonstrations in the Islamic Republic's history.

"Today the Iranian nation needs calm," Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in his first address to the nation since the upheaval began.

But the Ayatollah offered no concession to opposition supporters who are demanding the elections be cancelled and held again, sternly warning against further protests.

He blamed Great Britain and Iran's external enemies for the unrest, vigorously defending the ruling system.

"The enemies (of Iran) are targeting the Islamic establishment's legitimacy by questioning the election and its authenticity before and after (the vote)," the Ayatollah continued.

"If the difference was 100,000 or 500,000 or 1 million (ballots), well, one may say fraud could have happened. But how can one rig 11 million votes?" Khamenei asked.

Interesting that he mentioned the United Kingdom but not the United States.

He used the branch davidian murder of 80 men, women and children, called Clinton by name, to say the US has no claim to human rights issues. Very interesting.

We've been downgraded from "The Great Satan", thanks to the Ayatollah's biggest fan occupying our White House. Hopefully we'll move up to first place once we get a real president again.

When you’re oppressing your own people, you need to rally them with an outside enemy. Barack Hussien Obama is a bit to cuddly for the muzzies to demonize so they’ve fallen back to demonizing the UK by proxy.

Iran’s mullahs are Iran’s biggest enemies.

“How can one rig eleven milion votes”? Easy. You simply don’t count them and announce whatever results you want. After that, you destroy the ballots.

I don’t know, Khamenei, we don’t like you very much, either.

He believes he has a friend in the White House.

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown says...

"What we want is to have a good relationship with Iran in the future. But that depends on Iran being able to show to the world that its elections have been conducted fairly and that there is no unfair suppression of rights and individuals in that country."

In other words, "Go ahead and build nuclear weapons and force radical Islam on the world, as long as we can all just get along"

Hey! I thought we were the Great Satan. This isn’t fair.

If you’re not the biggest enemy of an evil dictatorship then you’re just not doing your job.
