Aside from a briefly worded statement about a "friendly" conversation she had with an Army brigadier general after dressed him down a day earlier for calling her "ma'am," Sen. Barbara Boxer remained silent Friday in the face of growing criticism as to whether she owed an apology.

Or should we just call ya' "Babs", "Broad", "Blinky", or "Blow Hard"?
I’m surprised he didn’t call her ‘sir’.
The word “Ma’am” was a recognition of her femaleness,
and she took it as an afront.
Nothing more than that...
How about “_gly _idget _itch”
Pathetic ‘ho. Trash trash trash!
The General should have known, you never address somebody with a female honorific if you can’t be sure whether or not they’re sporting a unit down there.
No, she doesn’t owe him an apology. The people of CA owe the apology for their lack of intelligence in repeatedly picking Boxer.
The Military is no where near the top of their "People of Respect" list.
She was right to rebuke him.
Calling someone ma’am is an expression indicating respect to a superior. On the other hand, “senator” is a expression used to describe someone who is grifting, sleazy, and two-faced — someone undeserving of respect. Senator is the proper address for someone like Barbara Boxer.
Why is that something to be proud of?
Beck did a very funny rant about Boxer today. He’s right she should have been the one showing the respect.
I got a few titles for her.
Senator? How about Senatorette or the more proper Senatrix?
The word Maam was a recognition of her femaleness, and she took it as an afront.Wasnt her response, I worked so hard to grow this mustache?
I know is his position the general had to call her senator, but it would have been wonderful if he kept calling her Ma’am. I wonder what she would have done?
Sounds like she’s got .... issues ...
LOL... yeah. P*nis envey.
Did she address him as General? I doubt it because this radical leftist despises the military.
He should have said to her “I’m sorry, Ma’m, you are not in my chain of command and I don’t take orders from you. Henceforth you will refer to me as General, Sir!”
Ma’am and No sir are instilled in southern children from almost birth. It is a sign of respect. If she thinks the word “senator” is more respectful that Ma’am then she’s in for a shock - hardly anyone respects the word senator any longer. She’s amusing and delusional.
I think Boxer was just revealing her true personality. Why should she apologize? NPelosi never did, and look what happened to her - nothing.
Arrogant twit. Senator is not a rank and she does not, contrary to democrat party beliefs, rule anyone. She holds a public trust as a public servant and does not rule or hold a position over anyone, even a general. These new Nazis believe that they rule rather than serve.
Personally I think the Brigadier General and all of us should highlight the word “Senator” because is so far beneath the term “ma’am.” She DOES deserve to be called a Senator,,she HAS earned it and all the grotesque and bloated attributes of it. It’s a title equivalent to corrupt “Sleazebag” or “Little Miss Big Ego.” She should wear it on a badge! She is one of a very few who thinks it is something to be proud of. It’s pretty close to the rank of pedophile except, instead of sexually molesting children, her and her cronies have SCREWED the children of future generations by their own self-serving actions. She is truly clueless as to how she denigrates herself by the behavior she exhibits.
I am glad I left that state years ago.
She can’t say anything because the first person she should apologize to is to herself, the big fat idiot she is.
Only if she were of lower rank as officer would she be called by her specific title.
I just called and told her that I was absolutely outraged that she would talk to any member of the military in her tone; that both officers and enlisted use the terms “sir” and “ma’am” even when they don’t respect the individual but respect the position. I then went on to say that she is a disgrace to California and the US Senate and that I was embarrassed that I EVER lived in California. Bitch!
How about just plain, “Self-absorbed b*tch?”
I’m surprised she didn’t hyphenate her last name.
Ma’am is a term of respect. Of course, only a lady would understand that when it referred to her.
:)
A “madame” OTOH ...
Good points. I don’t even igure if it gets the same level of entitlement that the term Doctor would.
I’d have called her “Bull Dyke”.
I couldnt find a post here that I dont agree with.
Boxer is too stupid to even realise she screwed up/
did she ever call him General?
She showed contempt for the entire military when she upbraided a brig. general in a public forum as though he were her 7 year old son.
She brought shame to no one but herself.
I saw the video. It wasn’t just what she said, but also the condescending, ‘I-can’t-be-bothered-with-you’ way she said it.
I just heard it a few more times on Glenn Beck radio today, and saw another aspect. In 3 or 4 sentences directed at the general, she never called him general or sir. She was no more respectful toward him than almost calling him “hey you, bub.”
"Your behavior toward that Army General is outrageous. Both Army officers and enlisted soldiers actually do something useful and valuable for our country, and risk their lives doing it.
And you pitch a hissy fit because the General addressed you as m'am instead of Senator?
You owe the General an apology, as well as your constituents.
We actually need the General and his troops. We don't need politicians." /s?
No. SHe didn’t.
“I’m surprised he didn’t call her sir”.
I would have. Just out of habit.
And she worked so hard for that title? WHAT A SELF ABSORBED LITTLE PERSON!!! She has NO idea what it takes to get to a general rank in the military. She should have been much more respectfull to him, but she flashed the arrogance of the obama party. Goofy kalifornian does not understand that but for people like the General, she is able to sleep peacefully at night and still has the right to speak her mind, little as it is.
If you can read this, thank a teacher
If you can read this in English, thank a soldier.
Are you listening, boxer?
Just to note, I refuse to capitalize the names of the traitor scum in Washington who are attempting to subvert our Constitution and destroy our way of life. Just my way of putting it back at them. I’m too old to be shouted down.
With those pants suits she wears, she ought to be called , Sir.
In the movies I always liked it when somebody said “Yes, sahib!”
In the South, “Ma’am” offers more respect than “Senator”.
Ma’am is just the female equivalent of Sir. I am sure no disrespect was intended. What an arrogant, pompous lady the Senatrix is.
This isn’t about whether the General was asked to call her “senator”. It’s about the disrespectful attitude and tone that was used to tell him to call her “senator”.
She didn’t address him by his title, or even “sir”. She owes an apology, but she’s obviously not decent enough to recognize that. At this late date, an apology would be meaningless anyway.
It’s unfortunate that her own action accomplished just the opposite of what she said she wanted. She brought disrespect upon herself, both as a woman and as a senator, by her her own disrespectful attitude and tone toward him.
She went on about how hard she worked blah blah blah.....does she have a clue how hard that man has/had worked to be in his position??
I doubt she knows or cares.
I want to see her and Elizabeth “DON’T CALL ME LIZ!” Becton get together.
