New FB Group: Americans in support of the Iranian people fighting for Liberty
Facebook Group: Americans in support of the Iranian people fighting for Liberty ^ | June 19, 2009 | Jeff Head

Posted on 06/19/2009 7:44:34 PM PDT by Jeff Head

I started a new group on Facebook in support of Iranian liberty.

The corrupt, totalitarian, Islamic terroristic regime in Tehran is ripe for a fall by the people of Iran who are seeking liberty.

If the US government in general, and specifically the Executive Branch of government under the President will not take a direct and principled stand, then we the people should support the Iranian people seeking liberty and make our voices heard...clearly and loudly.

This group is dedicated to amassing the voices of millions of Americans in support of the Iranian people, who, bolstered by the measure of liberty that the people of the nations on either side of them (Iraq and Afghanistan) have attained (thanks to the policies of George Bush), are now inspired to seek for themselves.

God bless them in that effort, and God bless all who will stand and openly, forthrightly support them in that effort in any way we can, materially, morally, politcally, through prayer, through protest and action of our own.

There is a unique opportunity in history occurring in those lands. Iraq and Afghanistan, for the 1st time in their modern history, have free governments and peoples, despite the best efforts of terrorists, tyrants, ideologues, and nay-sayers. God grant that despite those same opponents and inaction by some in our own lands, that liberty might take root and spread in that part of the globe.

No problem. I do not know if it will take off...but something like this needs to take off. Those folks in Iran need to see and be benefited by our support.

You can bet Bibi and the Israelis are supporting their movement, and with more than just words I will wager.

The movement, and if it turns into it, the revolution, in Iran is a punctuation mark on the policies of freedom of President George W. Bush in the Mid East. Obama knows this and is therefore reluctant and slow to recognize and support it. It would repudiate (as it darn well should) his policies of appeasement and disengagement.

But the people of Iran see and hear of the freedom that their neighbors in Iraq and Afghanistan are experiencing...and they all know who made that possible.

The House and Senate passed resolutions today condemning the oppression in Iran.

I know. I have posted a link to those articles today at the Group site.

Good on 'em, though like with the start of the war in Iraq, the liberal congressional voters did so because they fear the people who are in abject support of Iranian liberty.

Now the President needs to get off his duff and do likewise. See my post number 6. The vote in support of Iranian liberty is in reality a vote punctuating the policies and efforts of President George W. Bush, and the libs need to be reminded of it again, and again.

So very true. Thank you for sharing your insights, dear Jeff Head!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/8110441.stm

This BBC site has a lot of good info.,particularly good is the Who's Who tab. In addition to the usual suspects, there are names and faces that have been popping up in Iran since 1979.

I hate to admit it but most of my info has come from Twitter and the BBC during this last week.

I will get up on your FB site in a couple of minutes. T/Y for your efforts.
