During the campaign, the spin was that obama barely knew of ACORN and he was certainly not affiliated with them. Another source of agrument with one liberal friend.

Does anyone else detect the ripe odor of extortion?

Sidenote: obviously Wachovia wasn't ponying up enough to ACORN to be allowed to stay in business.
There's enough in this report to send the officers of ACORN to jail on multiple counts. But does anybody want to bet that the honorable AG, Eric Holder, isn't going to bury the investigation?

Which, upon seeing these numbers, I'm appalled the GOP majority never took up the battle to defund and destroy organizations like ACORN.
Non-partisan, my butt. Non-profit, my ass. Innocent agents of the poor and disadvantaged? Hardly. Outfits like ACORN have no business even operating, much less being funded by the federal government (remember, they got $4.5 billion in the "porkulus").
I recall Newt saying it was a priority of his to defund outfits like this, back in 1994. But nothing ever happened.
Did the GOPers not see the danger to themselves...??? Or was it just "too hard" for these potted plants to do the right thing...???
