(Whistleblower killed in suspicious car accident)

Iran protests: live - 17 June 2009 | News | guardian.co.uk

11am: The man who leaked the real election results from the Interior Ministry - the ones showing Ahmadinejad coming third - was killed in a suspicious car accident, according to unconfirmed reports, writes Saeed Kamali Dehghan in Tehran.

Mohammad Asgari, who was responsible for the security of the IT network in Iran's interior ministry, was killed yesterday in Tehran.

Asgari had reportedly leaked results that showed the elections were rigged by government use of new software to alter the votes from the provinces.

Asgari was said to have leaked information that showed Mousavi had won almost 19 million votes, and should therefore be president.

We will try to get more details later.

A revolution is “a foot.” This train has left the station and you bet me Obama will get on board and take credit for it.

Obama can’t take credit for something GWB started in Iraq.

The people of Iran want Freedom.

Ronald Reagan once said that great things happen when no one cares who takes the credit. If Stuttering Barry wants to claim credit for overthrowing the Retarded Mullah thugs and replacing them with pro-American secular government, fine by me. However, a fed up Iranian public seeking freedom for themselves goes against every grain of Barry’s body....his Default mode is “More oppression, less freedom, more control”.

Obama was forced to make his recent comments, since Obama’s early comments seemed, really, to favor the Clerics.

If Obama tries to hard to take any credit here, it will backfire on him.

Well, so far our Hussein has been content with threatening people with personal destruction via the power of the White House/federal govt, or by simply firing and then attacking them. He hasn’t murdered any of his enemies yet...as far as we know. And after all, he hasn’t really HAD that many enemies—that is, people willing to tell the truth.

The Iranians can't be worse than the Floriduh voters...:^)

I wonder if they were votes for “banned” candidates.

Just watch him.

At the end of the Cold War, Democrats who had advocated appeasement and surrender from the Berlin Airlift to KAL 007 declared the victory as bi-partisan and claimed half the credit.

By the numbers :

Voting age in national elections has been changed from 15 to 18, passed into law in 2006 and approved by Guardian Council in 2007.

FTA:

Total votes: 42,026,078
Mousavi: 19,075,623
Karroubi: 13,387,104
Ahmadinejad: 5,698,417
Rezai: 3,754,218
Invalid votes: 38,716

From CIA factbook:

People : Iran

So, aged from 15 and older (former voting eligibility) would make it ~52 million people, or ~78% of population.

That would put number of new eligible voters somewhere around 48-50 million people and turnout at about 84-88% of eligible voters?
