I think I know a way around this... Bring along some Afghan forces, and when the Taliban hides in the house, tell the Afghans to take out the house or go in. However, our troops will no longer be able to provide cover support.

I would bet the farm on it.... it's all about control, control, control... the narcissistic liar waving the white flag from the white house.

We had plenty of dumb rules in Iraq, and the situation was plenty hopeless. I saw stupidity and looming disaster up close and personal for years. I understand your frustration. I have a lot of friends and co-workers, valorous patriots all, that lost faith along the way.

All I'm saying is that the generals in question are not the kind of people who look at a bad situation, throw up their hands, and say "F@#$ it, we're doomed." They'd keep fighting if they had to use spears for weapons and smoke signals for commo.

That kind of limitless endurance is crucial when fighting religious fanatics on behalf of scared tribal societies. The temptation to be the hare is strong, but the tortoise will win in the long run.

Well by golly, why don’t we just ban the use of any weapons, tie the hands and feet together of our soldiers, and paint a big old bull’s Eye on them? Wil lthat be ‘humane’ enough for the nannies in the EU and the democratic party? And when any TERRORISTS are captured, let’s just shower them with love and gifts, and set them up in the Hilton presidential rooms and give htem al the room service and coddling they want? Then let’s apologize profusely for inconveniencing htem whiel they were tryign to murder our soldiers from behind the skirts of Afghan women and children?

Who is the friggin DOLT that is hamstringing our soldiers and putting hteir lives at risk just for hte sake of pandering to TERRORISTS so as we don’t hurt hteir precious feelings, or confront htem where they are hiding?

Amazing.

If they are going to tie our guys hands, then bring them home.

If they are not allowed to fight full tilt, then get them out.

This is nutz.

Bush saw humility and engaged the enemy in a more aggressive nature Holy Moly, positive results are achieved when you institute some sort of aggressive nature and let the military do what it does best

Afghan is a different animal, there was absolutely no progress shown and in fact got bad real fast the last couple of months (Wonder why).

The meals on wheels program won't work, in fact the supplies for creating infrastructure go missing (Gee, I am not surprised)

Logistic nightmares

We would be better off just killing and breaking things since the civis will not respect and appreciate our help

In fact, just leave and explain we will be back with hell if you mess with us again

Let those goat herders embrace the Taliban, they certainly do not want (Fear) our assistance

This assumes that having the taliban take over a village and adminster whatever they call justice is ‘shielding them from violence’

New Taliban Rule: Hide in peoples’ homes all the time.

Of course. Western troops would never take shelter in a civilian dwelling, be it a somali shack, a french chateau or an afghan hut. Simply would not happen. Inconceivable.

“..an RPG exploded on the wall near Howe and his men. Howe felt the wallop of pressure in his ears and chest and dropped to one knee. One of his men had been hit on the left side with a small piece of shrapnel. Howe abruptly kicked in the door to a one-room house on his left. He and his team had learned to move like they owned the world. Every house was their house. If they needed shelter, they kicked in a door. Anyone who threatened them would be killed. It was that simple...”

In other news, the Taliban announced that they were purchasing 2,000 Winnebagos for moving troops around the country.”

ROTFLMAO!!

I know this is serious, but that was great wit.
