Now obi will have to travel to Hawaii to take lessons from this guy. On our tab. Without the family. Needs to check the latest version of the new old BC, too.

The spongers get into some pretty crazy stuff: Again, to me this is way cooler than a pop-out-and-spin-around trick.

We’re not 24/7 political activism, that’s what it means.

Myself, I’ve logged thousands of hours manning phone banks and walked hundreds of miles of precincts over three decades of political activism, but I also garden, mountain bike, hike, camp, surf, draw and watch American Idol!

So I come to Freep not only to watch our political disintegration under Lord Zero, the Red Messiah, but I also read the gardening threads, the surfing threads, the astronomy threads, the string theory threads and the sci-fi threads.

Maybe that makes me a Renaissance Man, not a dull-witted member of the booboisie?!

Of course your opinion may differ...

What a great life, traveling the world to exotic locations and surfing great waves in beautiful surroundings

Not Dolphin.

The dorsal fin is too swept and small and there is an anal FIN rather than a FLUKE as a cetacean would have.

There are those that believe if the board leaves the wave, it ain’t surfing.

No. I rode Mavericks, many times. You can’t use jet skis there. Too many rocks and reefs. This is Jaws, I believe.

How totally cool...you actually rode Mavericks?

Wow!

Good for you...I just confined myself to the piers at Newport, and mild waves at that.

I remember calling Logan Lockabie’s Surf Report every day after school and hearing what the conditions were like, and if it was a Black Flag day I’d go watch those ballsy surfers...but I’d never go in when it was like that!

I body surfed The Wedge once, in mild conditions, and that was good enough for me.

Outstanding that you’ve surfed Mavericks, though...way cool.

Did you know that Hawaiian kid who drowned there a few years back?

See ya’,

Ed

I rode Mavericks, many times.

That is very cool.

I've never even touched a surf board, and the ocean scares the crap out of me, but I have had a strong fascination with surfing since I saw The Big Swell and Riding Giants a few years back.

I think it's because those guys really live.

He may have repeated the trick at the White House, but the first time he did it was at an X-Games event (I believe). It took him a few tries before he pulled it off, but he’s the first. I’m unsure if anyone has done it since.

OK. . but the photo showed him skateboarding in the White House. . .tacky, classless and a total insult.
