NET LOSSES
Steyn on America
Monday, 22 June 2009
A mere year ago the notion that the government would take over General Motors would have seemed incredible. Yet here we are, with the president of the United States firing the CEO and personally calling the mayor of Detroit to assure him he has no plans to move the head office out of the city. Not literally, not yet. But in any practical sense its now headquartered in Washington. In another twelve months, I wonder what currently unthinkable scenarios will have become faits accomplis.

Stein rocks!
He always exactly nails it and his wit is so sharp it should be a registered weapon :)
And I always really enjoy it when he sits in for Rush (although I like the other guest hosts as well).
Yes, thanks for correcting the date.
Alright JLS,
“Steyn is an early alarmist about the US economy and about Islam in Europe..”
You have 100 chips and you have to bet all on one outcome or the other...will Zero win or fail?
Obama winning or failing is not the same as the US winning or failing. Fortunately the American people has shown time and again they can over come back pols.
If I had 100 chips, I would put them on:
1. the economy causing cap and trade to fail.
2. the budget situation causing nationalizing health insurance to fail.
But then I am an optimist.
3. the GOP making gains in 2010 if not winning a majority.
Ha! I got to listen to Steyn on Monday when he subbed for Rush. :-)

I am not sure what you consider a waffle? I picked the two most important pending issues and said I thought they would fail. Does that mean OBama has failed in your light? Then I put my 100 chips on him failing. Other might suggest those failures could save his presidency.
You are one lucky dog - I missed that show.

A waffle is typing 200 words in response to a question which requires a one word answer. Obfuscation is a handy tool to create confusion and uncertainty; a simple “yes” or “no” is clear, which you have not been.

My apologies. I reread your responses and they were fine. I am the one in error. Too many cold ones, I guess. Sorry.
Apologies not needed too bad I could not negotiate for a cold one with you.
The money quote. America at the precipice. Steyn is one of the best analysts out there, not to be ignored.
Except of course by the all-knowing leader.
