Unfortunately the Zoroastrians do not accept converts, but I did meet one middle aged lady here in NY who left after the shah fell and she said many people in Iran are interested in Zoroastrianism becaue they feel it’s part of the Persian heritage....the whole New Year celebration Nowruz is very Zoroastrian.

I heard someone suggest that a huge strike is what is needed. See how the government likes it when nobody (or a large percentage at least) goes to work. At least they could starve to death slowly rather than getting beaten to death on the streets.

Case in point, the first Pahlavi King, Reza Shah who hated Islam and loved pre-islamic Persian glory, pondered in the 1930's briefly to make Zoroastrianism the state religion of Iran. However it was determined that a general secularization would be better than upsetting the religious structure altogether.
Regardless of that he invited the large Zoroastrian community in India to return to Iran.
It's too bad the Zoroastrians don't accept converts... there are millions of Iranians who want to get back to their own religion.
However there is also the large secret Bahai community in Iran, which are viewed as heretics by the authorities. Bahaism as a Persian religion that is syncretic, pacifist and with it's good ties to Israel, would be a good thing for Iran.
