[history]
In a stunning confession, South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford admitted Wednesday to being "unfaithful" to his wife during a press conference meant to account for his mysterious week-long absence. "I've let down a lot of people. That's the bottom line," he said. "I've been unfaithful to my wife." Sanford, who just returned from Argentina, said he developed a "relationship with what started out as a dear, dear friend from Argentina."

Man I was hoping he’d make a Presidential run in 2012. That’s clearly not going to happen now.

Well, at least it wasn’t with little boys, like Barney Frank.
The Repubs need to reconstitute the Plumbers and look into the private lives of Democrats.
Guess Sandford is all over with now. That leaves Palin, Bachmann, Jindahl, Cantor, and Romney.

Kinda sad really. I have a lot a respect for what he did about the porkulus. Part of me wants to think that this is a set-up. In the coming days we’ll know more about this.
I guess the 2012 field is narrowing.

In his position and drop out off the radar like he did without something like this being true.
Am amazed that so many here refused to even believe this as a possibility.

If he had a D behind his name, it would have been up to Matt Drudge or the National Enquirer to report on this. The liberal media actively shadows and investigates Republicans, while ignoring Democrats.
The above is by no means an absolvement of Governor Sanford.

Well, we all knew there was something fishy. No high profile governor goes away for a week to hike/take a cruise/vacation alone without telling his wife, staff and Lt Governor. At least he’s honest. He’s just not Presidential timber IMO.
To: STARWISE
It’s a well designed rino conspiracy.
They go and hire women to seduce all the good conservative men to get them out of leadership positions so the RINOS CAN RULE THE GOP.

I had a bad feeling from the start that this is what it would be all about. Affairs like this know no political party. They are about human weakness. Republicans can have affairs and so can Democrats.
This is why in the 1990's I was against attacking Clinton over his behavior, bad as it was. I knew this would blow back on the Republicans/Conservatives. The News Media would make the conservatives look like hypocrites. It was bound to happen and it has. The Democrats have John Edwards, Elliot Spitzer, etc. and now we have Ensign and Sanford.
It's not about political alignment, it's just human nature (weakness). The "conservatives" to decided to make a big deal out of Clinton's behavior are now bearing some sour fruit.
