1) Most California residents are Mexican nationals, so their opinion on American state spending doesn't count.
2) This is a manufactured statistic, just like ABC's Obama healthcare approval rating.
3) Most people want gravity to be about 50% of what it is now, and would like to poop gold. Who cares?

This is simply the result of people believing money comes from the government. After all,how hard can it be to print more?

66% of Californians say youre wrong. Then why do they keep voting for politicians who spend spend spend? Why do the same voters keep voting for costly ballot measures over and over and over?
No one likes to pay for things. The only difference between us and them is that we understand that we cannot get things for which we do not pay.

You are correct. Californians, by-and-large, are fine with tax increases on OTHER people, and budget cuts for programs that they don’t use.

If this is true then most Californians are worthless slugs!
I don't think it is true however. Maria Shriver is as full of $HIT as any Kennedy you might run in to (or get run over by).

Californians seem to want it all, says first lady Maria Shriver. They oppose billions of dollars in cuts to address the state's massive budget deficit but are not willing to pay more for the services they enjoy.Shriver is a typical liberal moron, utterly incapable of thinking logically or in any linear fashion. California's parasites don't want cuts. California's taxpayers don't want more taxes. These are two totally distinct groups of Californians, with only a slight overlap resulting from craven stupidity.

Maria Shriver didn’t check with “most Californians”. She didn’t check with me or anyone I know. I’ll send her an email if I can find her email address just to set her straight.

This is a lie. The only people that Shriver and Arnold are hearing from are the special interest groups - unions, envirowhackjobs, etc. The average Californian would be just fine with cutting all of the crap in the budget. Another part of the lie is that when the California politicians talk about cutting the budget, they always go after the core services first - police, fire, etc., instead of the useless pork departments and programs, because they really don't want to cut anything, and they figure if they threaten the few things that are actually worth paying for, they will scare all of the taxpayers into approving new taxes.

Do they not understand that if they don’t cut back, raise taxes, remove illegals......companies will move out of the State. That means fewer jobs and less tax revenue. Don’t they get it?

Who is she referring to? I don’t oppose the billions in cuts and I’m not willing to pay more for services I don’t receive and don’t want. I think the recent special election vote said it all what Californians want. It couldn’t be clearer to anyone but the blind and deaf legislators.
To: pnh102
people in California want everything for free.
I don’t read it that way at all. The people voted recently in a special election which said it all. Cut spending, PERIOD. That doesn’t sound like wanting everything for free. I’d say it sounds like they don’t want everything that rammed down our throats whether we like it or not and then get charged 200 to 300% more than ‘everything’ should cost. We’re tired of getting ripped off by programs we don’t want and that few of us benefit from.
