The photo composites came from American Thinker, iirc. I posted them as a reminder that the image on the dock came from the Kenyan students visit to Hawaii in 1971, it’s neither an arrival in 1959 or departure in 1962.

The typist appears to have typed MRS and then changed her mind. The name does not appear to have been DUNHAM. It looks like Dan...followed by an l, a k, a t or an h.
She is described as a citizen of Seattle.
The copy Smathers received had the offending item totally removed.
The offending item must have been part of the memo received by the author of the book. And she truncated it so that we are to believe it was SAD who approached the Salvation Army in April 1961 about an adoption.
