There was a mass demonstration yesterday in North Korea by the Korean Workers Party in front of the 1967-seized USS Pueblo, docked in Pyongyang on a main river.

Wow!! North Korea had a “major” victory over us during the Johnson administration, and they’re still crowing about it! I’ve been on bigger yachts than the Pueblo. These gomers cling to every little shred of accomplishment, while the majority of their people starve. On the other hand, South Korea is one of the richest countries on Earth, with a huge middle class, giant conglomerates, worldwide markets and almost 100% broadband penetration. Dollar-for-dollar, the Hyundai Genesis is probably the best luxury car value on the market. Where are the North Korean cars, TVs, ships, etc??

Upon being able to, fast forward to 18:30 until 26:25 (an eight minute report at USS Pueblo dockside on the Taeddong River).. At least for any USS Pueblo afficionadoes out there, for former crew members or crew family, there is a good camera once over of the ship port-side, from stem to stern. These rabid Norkies are really ramping up the war rhetoric in these speeches yesterday. You have to see it to believe it. By and large, I think the crowd is a bit bored, though, having to go through these rants on a daily or weekly basis. Call it Communist Burnout, perhaps.

You are right. I was in South Korea the very day this ship was taken. I remember waiting for LBJ to give the order to take it back. That order never came and the nightmare for those men lasted 9 months. Not a very good day in American history and his decision is still coming back to haunt us. Our current President could learn a lesson about the results of being non-committal.

Its hard to know what Carter’s spiritual condition is...given the company he keeps. While Carter didnt set out to destroy the country he would have given enough time...results matter. I am sorry, you are deluding yourself. The first test was not faked, it was a dud, but still proved to be a nuke explosion. The second test yielded about 20KT, was later poo-pooed down to 4Kt.
I believe the first estimate was correct and later the gov decided to try to cover it up. Their missiles won't reach Hawaii, but they will reach Alaska. Their nukes are probably too large at this time to put on a missile, that doesn't mean someone hasn't sent them one(Russia)small enough to do the job.

What is the penalty for a soldier going AWOL? Our Commander-In-Chief apparently has gone AWOL. A sh!thole country threatens our national existance and BO does nothing. I’m so angry and can’t really express it in public.

I would say there is much less danger in Myanmar these days than there would be in South Korea, or perhaps even in Japan (not to mention Hawaii), coming up in the next 10-15 day time frame. No worries.
