The Pueblo should have been blown up a long time ago IMO. I was afraid this would happen.

I was the Top Secret Control Officer and Crypto Custodian and my Sgts and I spent the better part of a day burning classified material which was also on the Pueblo. It would be a year later when the crew was released that we were informed that before they were boarded the crew had destroyed the crypto equipment and classified material.

They wre true American heros! Even Captain Bucher who had written in his confession that

none of the Koreans knew English well enough to write the confession, so they had Bucher write it himself. They verified the meaning of his words, but failed to catch the pun when he said "We paean the North Korean state. We paean their great leader Kim Il Sung"[9][10] ("We paean" sounds almost identical to "we pee on").
