I am far from defending the One, but the fact is and has been that tech is going to force us to make decisions like this. How much public money are we willing to invest in prolonging the failing life of aged citizens or citizens who have no hope of recovery of a productive life? If someone can pay, it is between them and their Drs and family. If the future wages of our citizens are going to be used as collateral to borrow and pay interest on money for that purpose as we are doing now, the decisions will be made for us when the nation is officially bankrupt. Your ideology and politics will make no difference-— we will eventually have to let people die, or ‘kill them’ by withholding available care. We should be talking about standards for such decisions now, or let the decision be made for us when our money becomes worthless because we continue to demand services to be paid by our children and their children.
