Obama Refuses to Pledge He'd Accept Health Care Plan Limits On *His Own* Family
Vanity comments on this ABC article ^

Posted on 06/25/2009 6:46:24 AM PDT by quesney

Elites often propose health care solutions that limit options for the general public, secure in the knowledge that if they or their loves ones get sick, they will be able to afford the best care available, even if it's not provided by insurance.

Devinsky asked the president pointedly if he would be willing to promise that he wouldn't seek such extraordinary help for his wife or daughters if they became sick and the public plan he's proposing limited the tests or treatment they can get.

The president refused to make such a pledge, though he allowed that if "it's my family member, if it's my wife, if it's my children, if it's my grandmother, I always want them to get the very best care.

Thank you for stating that. I agree 100%, and wish that more conservatives/libertarians would realize this. I would ascribe more of a "tribal/clan" feeling to it, but feudalism is a good explanation as well.

It's the progressive vision of rule by "experts". The unwashed masses are too stupid to make their own decisions, that's why they need administrators dictators czars and the like to do the thinking for them.

For years Osimba has been singing "I just can't wait to be king" just like Simba the lion cub from the Lion King movie did in the song, written by the lavender Elton John.

“I Just Can't Wait to be King” lyrics

Music by Elton John, lyrics by Tim Rice
Performed by Geoff Hoyle, Scott Irby-Ranniar, and Kajuana Shuford

Colors:

I'm gonna be a mighty king, so enemies beware!

I've never seen a king of beasts
	With quite so little hair

I'm gonna be the mane event
Like no king was before
I'm brushing up on looking down
I'm working on my roar

Thus far a rather uninspiring thing

Oh, I just can't wait to be king!

No one saying do this Now when I said that--
No one saying be there What I meant was--
No one saying stop that What you don't realize--
No one saying see here Now see here!
Free to run around all day	That's definitely out--
Free to do it all my way!

I think it's time that you and I
Arranged a heart-to-heart

Kings don't need advice
From little hornbills for a start

If this is where the monarchy is headed
Count me out
Out of service, out of Africa
I wouldn't hang about
This child is getting wildly out of wing

Oh, I just can't wait to be king!
Everybody look left

Everybody look right

Everywhere you look I'm--

Standing in the spotlight

Not yet

Let every creature go for broke and sing
Let's hear it in the herd and on the wing
It's gonna be King Simba's finest fling

Oh, I just can't wait to be king!

Oh, he just can't wait to be king!

Oh, I just can't wait...

Just can't wait

To be king!

Good question. Let's call our CongressCritters and Senators and ask them. Better yet, let's demand to go on their health care plan and if they refuse let's demand they join ours. ; )

WHO IN THE HECK wants obama and his legion of bureaucrats making health care decisions for them?????

The premise behind Roe v. Wade was that the state does not have the right to interfere in the medical decisions of a patient and a doctor and further that the state cannot inquire into the medical conditions of citizens because of the RIGHT OF PRIVACY.

The implementation of a forced government controlled health care industry would involve a wholesale destruction of any notion of medical "privacy" as enunciated in Griswold v. Connecticut and Roe v. Wade.

Someone needs to start asking these congressmen and the president if they are now advocating that the constitutional "right of privacy" enunciated in Roe is no longer applicable to the states or the federal government?

Law should read all government employees must access the government universal health care policy from the lowest Rotunda sweeper to the president. Then see what happens. The republicans will not push this because it will include them. Face it, we have no friends up there. The repubs want the democrats to pass this because they will still have great insurance, but they can use it to bash the democrats and plead for donations to help us. They don't care. Sooner we realize that the sooner we can throw all the bums out

Again, you get it. The average progressive peon either secretly lusts after the power of the elites for themselves (but usually settle for working on a HOA board or some grievance0-mongering busybody organization) or truly believe that they are too stupid to make their own life decisions and need a superior/Nanny State/National Father(*barf*)/”expert” to rule them.

“They’re not lame, they’re compromised.”

That I sincerely believe. And I fear that some are compromised because their participation in the most despicable acts.

To me it is the only way to explain their votes in congress.

Just like all the limousine liberal elites.

The better question would be: who wants to make them making healthcare decisions for others?

Leftists want to use this power to punish and eliminate ideological opposition. Speak out too much, you're "on the list" and you and your family receive "extra scrutiny" on your medical care and what you'll be allowed to have.

In reading the article you have to ask again and again, why would anyone allow Barack Obama or these other idiot politicians to meddle in which care you “really” need?

If one of these politicians showed up telling me my family doesn’t need certain procedures and we will solve it all with “prevention” I’d throw them out of the house.

My wife who is a cancer survivor and has lived healthy her whole life might want to do worse to them and it’s hard to blame her.

Obama should know that he's perfectly safe making that pledge and the breaking it later.

Just like: “We'll be the most transparent administration in history”, or “I will never have any lobbyists in my administration”, and all the other bullshit he bluffed his way through the White House door with, he knows he can say anything he wants to because the press threw away the rewind button on their VCR’s.

No one will ever look back and hold him accountable for anything.
