James Gordon Meek of the New York Daily News has posted two recent stories based on documents he obtained through FOIA on the FBI's interview of Saddam Hussein.
Meek says that, according to the documents, Saddam denied links to al Qaeda just as he did prior to the invasion and the Baath party recently denied again on their website.
In one of the documented interviews Hussein referred to America as his enemy and in another interview discussed Iraq's relationship with, and level of support for anti-Israel groups linked with Abu Nidal and Abu Abbas, who he referred to as "guests."

Yeah, I would kinda like to hear what he said, although he would probably also be trying to polish up his image, too — knowing he was done for pretty soon, anyway...
AND..., he would also know that a bunch of people would be reading it later on, too.
One thing I have generally suspected is that he had no operational ties with AQ/bin laden. It is one thing to say he had ‘contact,’ it can mean almost anything, the cia presumably has contact with the kgb, the fbi is going to have contact with hamas apparently, contact is a word that is used to insinuate much more than is necessarily true.
Whatever the truth is, from what I have read, it has never made sense to me for him to coordinate with a group that is by definition a potential threat to him, once he let them in the door.
You said — One thing I have generally suspected is that he had no operational ties with AQ/bin laden.
But, did he have something to do with Oklahoma City.... ?
[ ... the curious would like to know... :-) ... ]
I honestly cannot claim to be well-informed on that. I have read some things over the years essentially saying there was a much bigger web of co-conspirators involved, but there are just so many unanswered questions still that I don’t have a clue.
He was widely reported to have had an active plan to assassinate GHWB in ~93 or so in I think Kuwait, so it isn’t totally out of the realm of the possible, though honestly I would think that if he get involved in something, it would send a more clear message from him than a big building in OKC.

No one with a clear mind ever believed the stuff they stovepiped via the “Office for Special Plans” directly onto GHWBs Desk.
The whole AQ-Iraq Ties BLABLA was a total hoax...as the WMD thing was.
They had no cause for a war so they invented some.
and for what:
- 5000 Dead American Soldiers, 10.000s more crippled
- Millions of iraqi refugees
- 100.000 dead civilians
- a strenghtened Iran
- AQ has 1000 new arguments to call young muslims to jihad against the USA
Enjoy your sure to be short remaining stay at FR, lefty dweeb.
